COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our winter ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts. Cellarable for 3+ years.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2008 I didn’t detect much of an aroma upon pouring this beer. The beer itself is a dark red, with a nice head and good lacing. Can detect the alcohol slightly in the finish, but it balances nicely with the malt flavors. This is one that I have cellered some, and will re-rate when I open them up. (Re-rate) There is now a slightly sweet aroma to the beer. Coloration and carbonation appear to be about the same. The beer has seemed to gain more of a roasted flavor. Not bad at all.

Pours a clear dark amber with a thin off white head. BOld aroma of caramel, toffee, and sweet spices. Thin body. Taste is a mix of sweet spices with hints of nuts and dark fruits. Fairly light and flavors are not that bold. Good but not great. Finishes with a slight alcohol warmth.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can poured into a glass. Translucent mediu/dark brown with lots of floaters. Aroma is aroma is caramel, medium body, lower carbonation, and small-bubble lacing. Taste is caramel malt, some toffee, and spicy malt.

Feeling the seasonality on this, this hearty ale would be best during some long blizzards (alas, consumed in June); raisins, prunes, bread, warming

Cloves and sweet malt on the nose and taste. Wintery feel overall, would be warming in such a season. Somewhat watery for the bold flavour; could benefit from a touch more thickness. Surprised to see the "no spices" part of the description.

12floz can, COD: 10.20.2016, $1.50 and poured into a pint glass. I got a lot of sediment from the pour and little foam. Many particles are held in suspension, and at the bottom of auburn-brown body. Aroma and palate intertwine that is simply characteristic of toffee. It’s pretty good.

alteregoo (1738) - Kalisz, POLAND - MAY 9, 2017
Piana nieduża, szybko opada do firanki. Barwa mocnej herbaty, opalizująca. W zapachu karmel zahaczający o toffi, melasa, orzechy laskowe.

Nieskomplikowane i całkiem przyjemne.
