Smells of red wine barrels, vinegar and some sweet fruity smells. Taste is very vinous and wine like. A bit peppery. Brilliant. Strength is masked very well. Pucker sour for sure. Reminds me of one of the early erimitas. Maybe 1 or 3?? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Avery. Pours a hazy red maroon with light tan head, decent retention for the style and minimal lacing. Aroma is sour, lactic, fruity, stone fruit. Flavor is moderately tart, lactic, stone fruit, plum, with an oaky, lingering finish. Nice level of tartness, moderately fruity, pretty tasty. Moderate to lively carbonation, medium body, and moderately dry, astringent finish. A moderately tart and oaky sour. Should possibly have been in the sour red/brown category.

On draft at Avery Tap Room. Pours a hazy red-brown with a white head. Nose is light citrus, tart fruit, tropical fruit, some light vinous tartness, and mild wood. Flavor is similar- tart fruit, light malt, some citrus, and vinous tartness. Interesting sour overall.

Decent sour. Nice red wine characteristics (presumably from barrels) and oak. Fairly one dimensional though. Moderate sourness. Fred’s Mom is better.

On tap at Avery on 8/25. Red pour with small white head. Sour lactic nose with light vinegar and deep oak. Med body with big round tartness, light acetobacter, dark fruits and lingering oak. Acidic finish with vanilla, lacto and more aceto.

Pour on tap at Avery Sourfest 2012, dark red pour with thin off white head, aroma brought sweet cherries, caramel, with some sour lemon, hints of funk, dark berries, slight oak in there as well. Taste is simple, with a bit less berry, some sweet caramel and biscuit/bread with yeast, some oak, spice, hints of lemon, finishing fairly oaky and funky, slightly tart.
