Bottle, at hackobock tasting. Cloudy amber, no head. Vodka, pumpkin and rum up front. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Intensely boozy. Fireball like stuff. Vile.

15.9% version. Cloudy brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Silky palate with a little fine carbonation. Sweet malt with some port wine flavours. A little sweet pumpkin and spice - well integrated. Touch of dark rum and a trace of vanilla wood. Finishes semi dry with mild warmth. Pretty well integrated. Tasty and a bit different!
Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Bruce. Pours unclear amber-copper with a bubbly off-white head. The nose has ripe pumpkin, caramel, some wood, orange. Medium sweet flavor with boozy kick, rich pumpkin syrup, some autumnal spices. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Hot finish, caramel, sugar syrup, rich pumpkin, bread. Heavy-hitting stuff but pretty tasty. Not bad. Theydon_Bois (20462) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2014
Bottle split at the Manny G tasting, thanks to Bruce, 28/06/14.
Murky orange amber with a moderate beige swirl and edgeing.
Nose is big old pumpkin fuel, light spice, dark fruit rinds, ginger notes, caramel fudge.
Taste comprises sticky pumpkin pie mix, malty, rich caramel, light spice, touch boozey syrupy.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, smooth on the palate, sweet licks in the close and subtle booze tones in the close.
Solid pumpkin affair, really not getting the 18% which is expertly integrated, thought I was drinking 7 or 8 % worth of autmunal pie filler ! rlgk (18852) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 18, 2012
Bottle at Mumsig Miniprovning, Göteborg. Amber beer with a small offwhite head. Pumpkin aroma, fruity, rum notes, toffee notes. Pumpkin flavor, spicy, rum, sweetish, nutmeg, faint hop notes, fruity, pepper. Hoppy bitter finish, spicy, pumpkin. Quite nice but on the edge of becoming onedimensional. mcberko (18583) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 9, 2011
On tap at Brouwer’s for Big Wood, pours a mostly clear pinkish red with a small ring of beige head. Aroma of a melange of spices (nutmeg, coriander, vanilla, etc.), pumpkin puree, and rum barrels - quite heaty but not boozy in a bad way. Flavour is quite sweet and liqueur-like, with sweet rum, pumpkin puree, some subtle spices (but pushed back further). ABV is totally hidden. A delicious extreme, unorthodox take on the style.
