COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Bomber poured into a large Duvel tulip glass. Pours a hazy amber with a nice three finger head and all sorts of lacing. Poured this one a little on the cold side. Once it warmed up it really opened up. Aroma is Belgian yeast, cinnamon, peaches and a hint of alcohol. Taste comes across the same with the alcohol burn a bit more pronounced on the end. Nice dry finish.

640mL bottle from Carwyn Cellars, Melbourne. Pours a bright orange body, hazy, firm white head atop. Aroma quite fruity - orange, apricot, peach, toasty/bread crust malt, some spice in there. Big body, smooth texture, carbonation perhaps subdued for style but welcomed, good length. Toasty, cereally malts upfront on the body - leads onto notes of ripe apricot & yellow peach, savoury clovey/woody phenolic spice, finishes dry. Little indication of booze in this one, a nice drink, lacking a bit behind more authentic styles.

Light gold color. Medium carbonation. Lots of malt aroma with some noble-like hops in there, clear notes of cookies and nuts. Clear alcohol aroma. Tastes quite dry and bitter, much more so than suggested by the smell. Lots of spicy phenols and hops. Quite good.

Enteogenisk (162) - Bålsta, SWEDEN - JUL 11, 2016
Bottle in wine glass. Pours beautifully in a hazy yellow with a half-finger thick head. Aroma is dense with a classic Belgian fasette with a taste that is more like a triple than golden ale. Superb brew regardless.

Poured into challace. Beer is absolute deep golden with a twinge of apricot hue. Sufficient head without excessive lingering. Aromas of sweet dough - yeasty, spice and banana - maybe some bubble gum. Rarely a sense of cow manure there too - but not offsetting. This beer has Belgian DNA and not shy about it. Plenty of taste in this beer with a balance of bitterness, sweetness and saltiness going on. Nice full mouthfeel - great interaction between carbonation and viscociy of the beer. Carbonation is slightly understated, allowing other complexities to shine through. The beer finishes with an amazing after taste of yummy yeast, spices and bannana. Mineralization and appropriate bitterness remain. Again, Avery has come up with a winner. As with other beers in this series they are rich in every category including ABV. This one is at 9%. Of all of the beers in the holy trinity of ales, this one impresses me the most, but then I am a big fan of Belgin beers. It’s obvious the folks at Avery have made it their passion to use the highest quality ingredients while applying the goal of perfection in beer alchemy to produce the most impressive beers in the genre. Yet amazingly, while staying true to a category, they produce a beer that is completely unique in its own right. Cheers Avery!
