Bottle. Dark, pretty clear brownish amber with a small beige head. Aroma of potent bourbon barrel, mint, tangerine peel, and dark fruit. Tastes fruity and woody and slightly bitter with plenty of bourbon; sweetness and booziness are both mild (Nice). Medium bodied, slick and smooth.

Bomber, 2016 vintage. Bright tangerine aroma with notes of dark fruit, caramel, vanilla, whiskey and oak. Pours clear caramel colored with a thin tan head that has little retention or lacing. Starts with sweet dark fruit and caramel with notes of vanilla. Finishes very smooth with whiskey and oak flavors with the tangerine waiting until the end to reveal itself with a bit of booze. Excellent quad!

Great aroma. dark fruit, quad sweetness, bourbon barrel and tangerine peel all show up equally. See through amber color. Surprisingly drinkable for the high alcohol content. Bourbon barrel is present but not overwhelming. Tangerine is stronger in the taste than in the aroma. I was skeptical, but the combination totally works. Palate is a little lighter and more carbonated than most quads, but it fits the different nature of this beer.

22 ounce bottle into chalice, bottled on 11/26/2016. Pours crystal clear reddish copper color with a 1 finger dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, lemon/orange peel, raisin, plum, apricot, fig, cherry, berries, apple, date, red grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, coconut, bourbon, toasted oak, bread, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, tangerine peels, bourbon barrel, and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, lemon/orange peel, raisin, plum, apricot, fig, cherry, berries, apple, date, red grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, coconut, bourbon, toasted oak, bread, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate yeast and bourbon/oak spiciness; with light citrus peel bitterness on the finish.Lingering notes of tangerine, lemon/orange peel, dark fruit, apricot, apple, pepper, clove, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, coconut, bourbon, toasted oak, bread, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, tangerine peels, bourbon barrel, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt and yeast/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and lightly sticky/tannic, and slightly silky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden; a mild warmth lingering after the finish, with zero barrel booziness. Overall this is a great fruited barrel aged Quadrupel style. All around great fruity/spicy yeast, tangerine peels, bourbon barrel, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. The feels strong on the tangerine peels initially; but as it warms up, it has great all around balance and complexity of all flavors. Nice barrel presence, without being boozy or overly tannic/drying. Well attenuated and not overly heavy on mouthfeel. A really enjoyable offering.

Bottle shared by Chris R. Poured clear pale color with an average fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Medium to heavy yeast, citrus, wood and bourbon aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft legs. Medium to heavy complex sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex beverage.

Sweet vanilla bourbon aroma with a slight sweet Belgian quad behind. Bit of booze as well. Palate is almost light, especially for a Belgian quad, not sticky or sugary at all. Maybe some bittering from the tangerine peel and some booze in the finish. Oaky bourbon is there but not overpowering. This is delicious and very drinkable. Sipper, but I could sip a lot, even with the boozy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
