Behold the stunning crimson hues through the inky blackness. Inhale the noble Hallertau hops, spicy and floral. Savor the flavors redolent of English toffee, rich mocha, sweet molasses, candied currants and a hint of anise. We highly recommend cellaring additional bottles, as the Czar will continue to mature and become denser and more complex with age.

weihenweizen (3981) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - APR 4, 2017
Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a glass. Clear dark brown with beige. Aroma is dark chocolate, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is dark chocolate with dry finish.

luttonm (6547) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 28, 2017
GG, Seattle. Thin off-white, lingering cream. Heavy dark brown, light on edges. Sweet malty nose. Syrupy edge to the sip, moderately sweet up front before a softer roast and burnt bitterness comes up. Dark, chewy red fruit and raisins. Light hint of smoked malts. Pepper and anise. A round stickiness to finish. Nice.

tightslice (1380) - Redwood City, California, USA - MAR 20, 2017
Bottle from Willow’s Market in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is licorice, molasses, smoky, roasted malts, herbal medicine. Taste is sweet, oily, resiny, smoky, licorice, some mild bitterness. Very sticky, herbal licorice with some smoky roasted malts. Somehow this is sweet without being too cloying.

adster (819) - HUNGARY - MAR 18, 2017
Impozáns üvegben lakozik a méltóságteljes benyomást keltő imperial stout, amely egészen addig megőrzi ebbéli tulajdonságát, amíg ki nem kerül az üvegből. Ekkor ugyanis leginkább kólaszínű testét, s a rátelepedő krémszínű habját vizsgálhatjuk, mely őszintén szólva távol áll a legkiválóbb imperial stoutok küllemétől, kicsit már a kinézete is karcsúnak tetszik. Beleszimatolva rágógumis, medvecukros, édesgyökeres, melaszos és cukrozott datolyás aromákkal szembesülhetünk, színes kavalkádját alkotja egy malátás, élesztős keveréknek. Kortyai könnyedek, talán túlságosan is azok, továbbviszik a dubbeles hangulatot, sós aszalt szilvás, medvecukros bevonatúak, belgásan, angolosan élesztősek, németesen komlózottak, fűszeresek. Önmagában tehát ízletesek, karakteresek, de az imperial stout-érzést igen haloványan közvetítik, belga dubbelként tán jobban megállják a helyüket.

gopherfan99 (1996) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 3, 2017
Bottle (Batch 16; 10.6% ABV); pours black with a brown head; aroma of dark fruits, chocolate, toffee, and molasses with some vanilla and floral notes; taste is bittersweet with chocolate, molasses, toffee, dark fruits, and light vanilla and roast malt; finish is dry with some light bitterness; very good

77ships (10432) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - FEB 27, 2017
100 ml. from bomber @ Gollem: USA Beerweek(end) #2. Black, tanned head, lighter head tan than expected, non-lasting. Nose is licorice, umami, molasses, soy sauce. Taste is very heavy on licorice, almost BE qualities in that aspect, umami, herbal, gravy, more licorice, red grape, sweet, BE cloying herbal roots, umami, bark,... Body is black licorice candy, herbal, bitter. Far too much black licorice for me, not what I expected. Overly big umami black licorice with BE aspects. Def. expected more.

ghostbeer (220) - Nebraska, USA - FEB 26, 2017
Rich with strong bitter notes that makes this very drinkable. As it warmed up it brought out new and complex flavors and aromas. I was sad to see the bottom of the glass.

VastActiv (7390) - Oulu/Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 21, 2017
Tap at Khyber, Pennsylvania. Colour is black with very small brownish head. Aromas and flavours: Coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts and some vineous elements.

AndyW68 (1578) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - FEB 5, 2017
Very dark pour with tan head. Aroma does it for me. This smells like Mila Kunis looks. Dark sweet fruit and molassus. Taste follows nose, but not quite to the same standard. Still very nice.

geologyguy (1629) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - FEB 3, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2017 Very good dark fruit smell...Decently sweet...Strong flavor...Light bitterness and vanilla....Alcohol burn but smooth...Light roasting on finish...Some complexity...some banana in there too! Wow...Warming and very good. At random tap for first time X2 QUITE DIFFERENT... Light smoked meat smell, but could be environment, toffee and malt sweetness, very smooth, toffee is main taste, and Light alcohol finish. Decent complexity some smokiness...much lower second time
