100 ml. from bomber @ Gollem: USA Beerweek(end) #2. Black, tanned head, lighter head tan than expected, non-lasting. Nose is licorice, umami, molasses, soy sauce. Taste is very heavy on licorice, almost BE qualities in that aspect, umami, herbal, gravy, more licorice, red grape, sweet, BE cloying herbal roots, umami, bark,... Body is black licorice candy, herbal, bitter. Far too much black licorice for me, not what I expected. Overly big umami black licorice with BE aspects. Def. expected more. ghostbeer (248) - Nebraska, USA - FEB 26, 2017
Rich with strong bitter notes that makes this very drinkable. As it warmed up it brought out new and complex flavors and aromas. I was sad to see the bottom of the glass. VastActiv (7592) - Oulu/Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 21, 2017
Tap at Khyber, Pennsylvania. Colour is black with very small brownish head. Aromas and flavours: Coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts and some vineous elements. AndyW68 (1602) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - FEB 5, 2017
Very dark pour with tan head. Aroma does it for me. This smells like Mila Kunis looks. Dark sweet fruit and molassus. Taste follows nose, but not quite to the same standard. Still very nice.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2017 Very good dark fruit smell...Decently sweet...Strong flavor...Light bitterness and vanilla....Alcohol burn but smooth...Light roasting on finish...Some complexity...some banana in there too! Wow...Warming and very good. At random tap for first time X2 QUITE DIFFERENT... Light smoked meat smell, but could be environment, toffee and malt sweetness, very smooth, toffee is main taste, and Light alcohol finish. Decent complexity some smokiness...much lower second time rdixon77 (3013) - Georgia, USA - JAN 21, 2017
Fine imperial stout. Pretty heavy molasses, dark fruit, chocolate, char. Big and boozy. Nothing wrong with that. katrinaez (2247) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 17, 2016
Bottled December 2015. Pours dark brown to black. Body and thickness matches the abv. Nice roasted and toffee and tobacco aroma. Taste had dates, tobacco, burned caramel taste. The aged barrels comes out late and sits on your tongue. A bit of a boozy burn, but not overwhelming.Bottle csaso (2321) - Missouri, USA - NOV 21, 2016
Bottle, Nov '15 vintage - small tan foamy head, dark black color, pretty sweet malty aroma and flavor, mild roasty notes, moderate hop balance, kind of a flat finish, good overall but expected better

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 12/10/2015. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, molasses, vanilla, toasted dark bread, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of coffee, raisin, fig, date, licorice, char, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, molasses, vanilla, toasted dark bread, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of coffee, raisin, fig, date, licorice, char, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, molasses, vanilla, toasted dark bread, nuttiness, dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/hop bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slight dryness from hop/roast bitterness as well. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy, lightly slick/silky, and slightly chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol. Overall this is an outstanding Russian imperial stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV. This is not nearly as roasty or dense as others in the style; but still has awesome malt complexity, in combination with fruity yeast and earthy hop flavors. A highly enjoyable offering.
