The Kaiser once said, "Give me a woman who loves beer and I will conquer the world." If the Kaiser and his significant other had tipped this bottle, we’d all be "sprechenden Deutsch!" We took all that is good in a traditional Oktoberfest - gorgeous, deep copper sheen, massive malty backbone and spicy, floral, pungent noble hops - then intensified each into this, an Imperial Oktoberfest.

2005 bottle. The day after Thanksgiving, what better beer to share amongst ourselves. Pours a nice clear orangish brown with a fluffy head. Aroma smells of toasted malts, sweet caramel apples, a bit of citrus, hints of floral hops. I left it outside overnight so the first sip was ice cold. Nice sweetness likend to brown sugar and full mouth feel. As I kept drinking and it warmed up, the malts and earthy spices really came through. It was nice and strong with a nice dry hoppy back of the mouth taste.

Nose is breakfast syrup. Flavor is the same, lots of malty grainy flavor. Not hoppy at all, very enjoyable beer. Sweet malt light toast and lots of chewiness. Very nice beer.

Bottle. Clear amber color with white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, some earthy hops. Taste is caramel, toffee, a touch earthy hopspice, a touch cardboard. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Solid.

Bill Becker (2003) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 16, 2017
This poured a dark gold/copper with a small head that dissipated quickly. After a minute or two, only a fine lacing remained around 3/4s of the glass. The smell is a carmally sweet similar to what you get from a barleywine like maybe a JW Lees or one of equal ilk. The initial taste is so darned sweet I'd call it a malt bomb but after further tasting, there is some semblance of balance and I have to say it does taste quite good. Over all, I recommend this one as a nice, sipping brew for the fall season.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2017 Light aroma with a hint of cloves and sweetness. Pours a beautiful golden hue with a one finger head. Rich malt taste with raisin and herbal tones. Delightful finish with a ever-so-slight burn. A very underrated lager that pulls together nicely.

A copper beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has dried and sweet fruits, also fresher perries, caramel, hint of flowers. Great aroma. Taste has dried furits, smooth maltyness, some perries, quite sophisticated. That can’t say a sweet because there are enough of bitterness involved. Only medium bodied, nicely smooth palate. Too quickly the glass is empty. Succesfully and balanced beer. The overal feelings are elegant and sophisticated.

Clear amber pour with a small white head. Aroma is simple, caramel, clean. Taste is rich Oktoberfest style, caramel, a little bready. Slightly sweet, a little metallic.

a thick sweet alcohol syrup. Not sure what association this has to octoberfest, the style is more like Belgian triple.

Orange-amber pour with a finger of beige head. Malty, buttery caramel. Just a touch of spice in the finish.

2016 bottle. Mostly clear orange amber with an average off white head that leaves little lacing. Aroma is malty with floral hops and toffee. Taste is full of rich roasted malts, toffee, caramel, and sticky, somewhat bitter hops. Thicker and lingering sweetness. Slight alcohol presence.
