UPDATED: OCT 14, 2009 ’09 bomber again. Just as great this time. Now I can purchase up the road, ahh. Yeah, so, a very solid, warming, Oktoberfest... then someone tells you the a.b.v., WTF!? Are you fucking kidding me? Still a very nice Euro-Strong Lager w/ added Fall complexities. Clean Yeah.
’06 22oz. A tremendously large lager! , has a strong yet deep/complex malt backbone. The alcohol begins at its moderate level, but gets much more noticable when warmer... def. takes on a barley wine feel. agro0’s description works perfectly, well said. This is a good beer, and could be a great: a.) cheaper bomber, but hey!... b.) available in SOUTH CAROLINA : (
Nose is breakfast syrup. Flavor is the same, lots of malty grainy flavor. Not hoppy at all, very enjoyable beer. Sweet malt light toast and lots of chewiness. Very nice beer. SinH4 (6571) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - NOV 1, 2017
Bottle. Clear amber color with white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, some earthy hops. Taste is caramel, toffee, a touch earthy hopspice, a touch cardboard. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Solid. Bill Becker (2009) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 16, 2017
This poured a dark gold/copper with a small head that dissipated quickly. After a minute or two, only a fine lacing remained around 3/4s of the glass.
The smell is a carmally sweet similar to what you get from a barleywine like maybe a JW Lees or one of equal ilk.
The initial taste is so darned sweet I'd call it a malt bomb but after further tasting, there is some semblance of balance and I have to say it does taste quite good.
Over all, I recommend this one as a nice, sipping brew for the fall season. GregMooreNH (264) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 18, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2017 Light aroma with a hint of cloves and sweetness. Pours a beautiful golden hue with a one finger head. Rich malt taste with raisin and herbal tones. Delightful finish with a ever-so-slight burn. A very underrated lager that pulls together nicely. TET (3285) - Kaarina, FINLAND - AUG 20, 2017
A copper beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has dried and sweet fruits, also fresher perries, caramel, hint of flowers. Great aroma. Taste has dried furits, smooth maltyness, some perries, quite sophisticated. That can’t say a sweet because there are enough of bitterness involved. Only medium bodied, nicely smooth palate. Too quickly the glass is empty. Succesfully and balanced beer. The overal feelings are elegant and sophisticated.

Clear amber pour with a small white head. Aroma is simple, caramel, clean. Taste is rich Oktoberfest style, caramel, a little bready. Slightly sweet, a little metallic. phoner2 (59) - Racine, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 1, 2017
a thick sweet alcohol syrup. Not sure what association this has to octoberfest, the style is more like Belgian triple. dfinney23 (3424) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 26, 2017
Orange-amber pour with a finger of beige head. Malty, buttery caramel. Just a touch of spice in the finish. Thechasm442 (1006) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 25, 2017
2016 bottle. Mostly clear orange amber with an average off white head that leaves little lacing. Aroma is malty with floral hops and toffee. Taste is full of rich roasted malts, toffee, caramel, and sticky, somewhat bitter hops. Thicker and lingering sweetness. Slight alcohol presence. Torrefacto (1792) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAY 17, 2017
