COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Maharaja is derived from the sanskrit words mahat, - "great" and rajan - "king". Much like its namesake, this imperial IPA is regal, intense and mighty. With hops and malts as his servants, he rules both with a heavy hand. The Maharaja flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops: tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley - fashioning a dark amber hue and exquisite malt essence. This newest Avery Dictator completes the "Dictator Series" joining the likes of The Kaiser & The Czar. Be aware that The Maharaja is a limited release only available for the summer. Welcome to his kingdom!

On tap @ Fathers Office. Aroma is of grapefruit, citrus, hops. Tastes of fresh hops, pine, grapefruit, and the alcohol is very well hidden. Only notes can be detected. This is another one of my favorite IIPA’s.

This beer is so good it makes you want to smack your bartender for not serving it to you earlier. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a mild hazy light amber-color with some orange highlights. The head is a medium sized off-white color. The aroma is mostly grapefruit with some earthy notes tossed in. The taste is similar to the nose.

Psytron (2238) - Turku, FINLAND - MAY 31, 2017
No smell. Copper colour, white head. Aroma of alcohol, oak, whisky, spruce, hops. Bitter with alcohol sweetness. Oily texture. A bit of a disappointment, considering Avery overall.

One of those beers you want to last forever, a desert island beer, a beer you drink and them skip for a year or two and then drink again and wonder why the hell you haven’t been chugging pints on a daily basis. Big, resinous, citric, malty, and oh so bitter. Caramel on top of oranges on top of pinecones covered in mango jelly. Starts honey-sweet and finishes on an IBU rampage. Massive pungent, herbal hops develop an easygoing citrus backside to hold your hand and guide you through the bitter storm. 10%+ ABV makes itself known without burning out your palate, and the chewy, viscous feel matches the outsized character of the brew. World-class stuff.

Given to me in a mixed-six by a knowledgeable friend. The 12 oz can pours a hazy orangey yellow body with a gallant white head that settles to a nice cover. A smell delivers resin, mango and newly cut grass. Yeah, really. The taste builds on that, pineapple, lemon and a moderate hoppiness. The denouement is a lingering, decent bitterness. Hope my friend saved an extra.

Magas fokon ég, hatalmas erő birtokosa, amelyet azonban remekül tart kordában a szerkezet, elegáns vonalai tehát egy percre sem halványodnak, mindvégig élvezetes imperial IPA marad.

lownote (585) - Austin, Alabama, USA - APR 25, 2017
Aroma is intensely citrus, with a blend of lemon and orange. Some pine and resin as well. Pours a brilliant Amber with a puffy white head from can. Very sweet, low bitterness. More hop citrus in the flavor. Nice medium body, a little slick, pleasant soft carbonation. Delicious malt and hop bomb.

12oz can (have drank these for many years) - it pours a semi hazy coppery orange with a med off white head. Nice hop bouquet of citrus, pine and stone fruit notes. Hefty hop flavor but pretty well balanced with a light caramel malt. Delicious and bitter long aftertaste. The

Pours a hazy golden color with a golden-white foam head. Aroma is citrus, pine, and resin with caramel malts. Flavor is sweet caramel malts with citrus and pine hops. Has a smooth, full body with moderate bitterness. Delicious.

Gerbeer (3679) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 27, 2017
On tap. Pours a dark copper color with moderate head. Aromas of candied fruit and bready malts. Flavors of fruity phenols, dull fruity wine gums, dry tropical fruit with a bit of banana, and lots of toasted malts. Smooth but somewhat odd.
