COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Maharaja is derived from the sanskrit words mahat, - "great" and rajan - "king". Much like its namesake, this imperial IPA is regal, intense and mighty. With hops and malts as his servants, he rules both with a heavy hand. The Maharaja flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops: tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley - fashioning a dark amber hue and exquisite malt essence. This newest Avery Dictator completes the "Dictator Series" joining the likes of The Kaiser & The Czar. Be aware that The Maharaja is a limited release only available for the summer. Welcome to his kingdom!

On tap @ Fathers Office. Aroma is of grapefruit, citrus, hops. Tastes of fresh hops, pine, grapefruit, and the alcohol is very well hidden. Only notes can be detected. This is another one of my favorite IIPAs.

Very smooth. Coppery color with an off white head. Grapefruit, light bread, and a nicely balanced hops that is a little dry, a little bitter, but very good overall. Full but not heavy. This is 10.2%? Well hidden.

Bottle: Cloudy amber with creamy, off-white head. Caramel, orange, resin aroma. Taste is sweet caramel malt, candied-orange, sweet pine. Big bodied.....increasing resiny bitter.... A little alcohol warmth, but not boozy at all....nicely done.

A very good well balanced imperial IPA. Pours a very nice cloudy orange with a white head. Smells great, berries, citrus and pine. Taste is less hoppy then expected, which is a good thing. Balanced. Bubbles on your tongue to start, with lots of citrus, grapefruit, caramel and sea salt, with honey and pine in the finish. Had on tap at NW Growlers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled five oz of both normal and double dry-hopped. The former was delicious, but the latter was just killer. I loved it. Great malty balance to offset the huge hops, but still enough dankness to kill a small animal

Double dry hopped version at Avery tap takeover at Churchkey. Tap into a snifter showing lightly filtered orange with a thin white finger of foam. The nose shows rich pineapple. The palate is moderately carbonated and light bodied. Pineapple forward with a light zestiness and moderate bitterness on the finish.

22oz bottle pours a slightly hazy pale brown color with a bit of head. Thick maltiness. English style hops that balance the malt sweetness well.

Very clear, amber color. Aroma is hoppy and you can tell the malty aroma ... When tasting it i could tell the sweetness, very obvious sweetness. Then the bitterness comes. Well balanced. moderate dry finish. Nice!

At Whiskey Barrel. Pours cloudy yellow. Creamy mouthfeel with a orange floral thick middle and a long lingering tang. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
