The Reverend, was created in tribute to the life of Sales Mgr. Tom Boogaard's grandfather, an ordained Episcopal Reverend. Tom was inspired by the life of his grandfather and wanted to create a tribute beer that contained his sterling traits. True to both our "small brewery, BIG BEERS" philosophy and to the spirit and character of the departed Reverend, this beer is strong willed, assertive, and pure of heart, a heart of candy sugar. It contains as many authentic imported Belgian specialty malts as the brewers could cram into our mash tun, and lots of Belgian dark candy sugar stirred into the brew kettle. A divinely complex and beautifully layered beer with hints of dark cherries, currants, and molasses, complimented by an underlying spiciness. Sinfully smooth considering the high alcohol content. Cellarable for 4 years.

Bomber. Clear, ruby-brown pour with a minimal off-white head leaving minimal lace. Grape, candy, Belgian yeast nose. Heavy, smooth, sweet body tasting of candy, molasses, dark fruit, prunes and ripe banana. Light carbonation. Finish has a fair bit of umami.

Soupordean (21) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 24, 2017
Cloudy red-brown. Very immature. Light malt, berry and booze aroma. Very light palate for such a strong beer. Notes include wheat, malt, dark fruits, raisins, blackberry, licorice and twigs. Simply not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

dysenteri (320) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - MAR 28, 2017
Taster at En Öl och Whiskymässa 2017. Cloudy brown, white head. Caramel, malt, spices, fudge, sweet. Tiny bit of alcohol.

ttoadee (1483) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAR 22, 2017
Amber, almost rose, pour, quick head. Nose is spices and malt, maybe a little sherry. Bittersweet. Middle is cherries, medium kilned malt, little cinnamon and allspice, Belgian yeast background ties it together. Finish is fruity and warm. Lookout for the ABV, it is way under the radar. Scarily drinkable.
