COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Reverend, was created in tribute to the life of Sales Mgr. Tom Boogaard's grandfather, an ordained Episcopal Reverend. Tom was inspired by the life of his grandfather and wanted to create a tribute beer that contained his sterling traits. True to both our "small brewery, BIG BEERS" philosophy and to the spirit and character of the departed Reverend, this beer is strong willed, assertive, and pure of heart, a heart of candy sugar. It contains as many authentic imported Belgian specialty malts as the brewers could cram into our mash tun, and lots of Belgian dark candy sugar stirred into the brew kettle. A divinely complex and beautifully layered beer with hints of dark cherries, currants, and molasses, complimented by an underlying spiciness. Sinfully smooth considering the high alcohol content. Cellarable for 4 years.

Cooper color with a caramel-white, foamy head. It looks great in a glass. Aromas of fruit, sweet malt, sugar, spice and alcohol. Taste is sweet front with malt and fruit followed by spice and bread. It finishes with a warm kick. The sweet sugar lingers for awhile in the mouth.

Amber, almost rose, pour, quick head. Nose is spices and malt, maybe a little sherry. Bittersweet. Middle is cherries, medium kilned malt, little cinnamon and allspice, Belgian yeast background ties it together. Finish is fruity and warm. Lookout for the ABV, it is way under the radar. Scarily drinkable.

Piana nieduża, sycząca, szybko opada do firanki. Barwa miedziana, opalizująca. W zapachu kandyzowane słodkie owoce, rodzynki, świeże morele, melasa, wosk pszczeli - dość przyjemnie i w quadruplowym stylu. W smaku sporo słodyczy w typie fig, kandyzowanych skrek pomarańczy, do tego suszone owoce, syrop klonowy, przyprawy. Goryczka średnia, pikantno ziołowa, w posmaku odrobina tytoniu i świeżych brzoskwiń.

22oz. Pours soapy white head, rusty copper body. Another big quad from Avery, but lacking a bit in the foundation, feels a bit simple.

almost clear mahogany colour, 1 cm creamy yellowish beige head; aroma and taste of soy sauce, tons of yeast, some bread, caramel and minimal dark fruity notes; to be honest, this is definitely among the worst quadrupels Ive tasted so far...Im disappointed...very disappointed... :-(
