6 oz pour on draft at Snallygaster 2017 shared. Amber with beige head. Aromas of malt, wheat. Tastes of oak, wheat, malt. Medium body with a dry finish. radagast83 (8827) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - SEP 27, 2017
Draft pour at Snallygaster 2017. Poured a hazy dull yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was sweet toffee, caramel malts. Light toasted notes. Big boozy notes. Heavy malts. Light juicy hop notes shine through. This tastes a bit liike Old Guardian and sure does taste like the base beer, Hog Heaven, just a touch hoppier. ajnepple (7910) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - SEP 25, 2017
On tap at the brewery. Light amber colored, unfiltered and pretty clear in appearance with a lacy beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, dank hops, mild citrus fruit, light earth, toast and toffee. Similar flavor, adding medium plus hop bitterness and a mild malt sweetness. Medium to full body. Rich, balanced and pretty tasty overall. solidfunk (9944) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - SEP 17, 2017
Booze, caramel and some sort of earthy root vibe like Absinthe. Pours clar maroon with good head. Bittersweet finish. Tap at brewery. slowrunner77 (13908) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 6, 2017
Dark orange pour. Piney hops galore, some earth and big malt on the nose and flavor. Pleasantly bitter. Drinks pretty big but hits the spot if you're in the mood.

Lots of hop aroma. Thin on tongue but lots of hops. Not much more than the original except a bit more thin and a bit more harsh.

Tap at the source with blonderedhead, willyP, and wanderkate. 10oz pour in Belgian snifter glass. Beautiful appearance like a ripe apricot or tangerine. Someone in the party thought it was like a funky cheese in nose and taste. No one agreed with him. Taste has plenty of bitterness with strong piney characteristics and a citrus rind quality. Leans towards a palette wrecker. Bitterness lingers well through and after the finish. Nice malty, caramel backbone that comes into play towards the end. Super cool scene and well worth the visit. Not my favorite Avery offering but happy to have tried it. djd07 (16643) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 14, 2016
On tap at the brewery October 2014. Pours a cloudy orange with small white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong pine and resin. Medium body, pine, resin, very bitter finish, very good. snoworsummer (6588) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - AUG 9, 2015
Draft at Avery. Pours opaque copper with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like strong pine and grapefruit hops, resin, nutty caramel malt, light booze. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like pine and grapefruit hops, resin, caramel and nutty malt.
