Jacob Spears, our 6th Great Grand Uncle, is credited as the first distiller to label his whiskey "Bourbon." He built his distillery in Bourbon County, Kentucky in 1790 - 203 years before began brewing. While obviously a bit too late to produce Uncle Jacobís wash, weíve instead created something far more complex. In his honor, we present this robust, silky smooth, full-bodied and altogether extremely American rendition of an Imperial Stout aged for 6 months in the very finest bourbon barrels. This explains a lot about our penchant for big brews! Itís in our blood!
Brewed with Rocky Mountain Water, Malter Barley, Flaked Oats, Hops and Yeast.

Black color . Nice , beige head. Bourbon, roasted malt , vanilla and hint of coffee in aroma . Perfectly balanced taste which follows the aroma. Sweet, but not too sweet . Boozy but not too boozy . Gently bite of roasted bitterness at the end.

Donít pick up much of the bourbon in the aroma, but it really comes through in a balanced aesthetic way in the flavor. Everything works here. Not just a strong stout, but an imperial, and you know it. Yet, itís sooo smooth and almost easy drinking. Hope I can find more locally.

2 12oz bottles (2/15 & 2/16 bottle dates) shared side by side with bananabi11. Thx E! Black pour with a tan head. Aroma has smoke, caramel, big alcohol. Heavy malts. Sweet. Huge alcohol presence, full bodied. The blend is ok, lowly carbonated,. Finishes sweet, thick and alcoholly. 14
