COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jacob Spears, our 6th Great Grand Uncle, is credited as the first distiller to label his whiskey "Bourbon." He built his distillery in Bourbon County, Kentucky in 1790 - 203 years before began brewing. While obviously a bit too late to produce Uncle Jacob’s wash, we’ve instead created something far more complex. In his honor, we present this robust, silky smooth, full-bodied and altogether extremely American rendition of an Imperial Stout aged for 6 months in the very finest bourbon barrels. This explains a lot about our penchant for big brews! It’s in our blood!
Brewed with Rocky Mountain Water, Malter Barley, Flaked Oats, Hops and Yeast.

Been wanting to try this bad boy ever since I heard of it. Pour pitch black, with a small creamy mocha-brown head... Looks freaking terrifying!! Aroma is packed of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, coconut, bourbon, wood, bourbon/rum - soaked dark fruits, dates, raisins, licorice. This shit really is delicious. Holy cow!! The taste is pretty sweet, with a slightly bitter and boozy aftertaste, which suits this beer very well. Medium and rather oily bodied, with a lively carbonation. Slight heat in the throat when swallowed. This shit sure is tasty, and I’d always be iso more!! Thanks to Master Scott for sending me this SOB!!

Pours coffee brown with a nice tan head. Aroma offers coffee, sweet, roast malt, chocolate and caramel tones. Flavor presents caramel, sweet toasted malt, chocolate and coffee notes. Mouthfeel features firm body and peppy fizz. Love your uncle - I should because I have one in North Carolina!

Black pour, foamy brown pour. Aroma of chocolate and dark fruit. Flavor of rich chocolate, prune, and booze (but not as boozy as it actually is!) Rich, thick, mouthfeel. Fantastic.

Enormt trevlig doft. Kakao och sötma. Smak av choklad, vanilj och sötma. Lite spritig eftersmak men det är helt ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

17.4% version from March 27th 2012. Opaque black - brown beer, good dark tan head. Palate is airy and has modest fine carbonation. Rich dark malts, quite fruity. Spicy coffee. Brandy alcohol dominates any bourbon. Finishes with more spicy tangy coffee and dark fruits. Spicy alcohol linger. Full on, five years old but could have left it another five I reckon!

Had on tap. Dark brown pour with cascading carbonation. Small head that dissipates. Big boozy aroma with notes of vanilla, fruit, and spices. Taste is smooth. Great booze taste with full mouthfeel of all ingredients coming through. One of my favorite barrel aged beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At the brewery, with the same group, pours a dark black pour with a java head. Nose is whiskey and heavy malt. Taste is upfront whiskey with heavy malt. Finishes on whiskey malty notes with a long finish. Another sipper ! Quaff Score 8 / 10....8-3-8-4-18
