Murky, almost opaque raw honey hued, like a chocolaty copper. Nose of vanilla, wood, whiskey, caramel, and brown sugar. Big bodied but surprisingly smooth, with warming sweet notes of caramel, wood, whisky, vanilla, boozy pale grains, more caramel, sweet light fruitiness, and slightly more whisky on a sweet finish. It’s like sessionable whiskey without the astringency.

Smell some light fruit with light sour/tart attributes and can definitely get the barrel on the nose. Taste is very different, the barrel takes over on most of the flavor and get some hints of sweet toffee/whiskey.

On tap at Avey poured a clear reddish amber with a lating amber head. Aromas of carmel, toasted malt, light fruittiness, light oak and light whiskey. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, toasted malt, light fruittiness, light oak and light whiskey with a lingering malty finish.

Tap as Whiskey Salvation. Pours hazy brown with a medium, fizzy off-white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is whiskey, oak, caramel, nutty and toast malt with fruity esters and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with whiskey and oak notes, fruity esters, light hops and bitterness with a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.
