Clear golden body, served with no head. Aroma is medium sweet, some grassy, light spice. Taste is medium sweet, grassy and light herbal, finishing with a bit of spice. Light-medium body. Nice drinkable beer. hopscotch (11451) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 23, 2004
Clear amber lager with a small, fizzy, white head. Malty and hoppy nose. Straw, butterscotch and floral notes.
Decently balanced. A touch on the bitter side from start to finish. Light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, bitter finish. Overall, a well-hopped beer with a poor malt profile. Not much to it, really. TheBeerGod (6284) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - JAN 10, 2004
Had this on draft at the Old Dominion Brewpub on 1-10-04. Translucent gold. Small white head. Nose is malt with very light hops and some bread notes. Tastes a little grassy and hoppy with a little malt. Decent beer. haddon90 (1634) - Newport Beach, California, USA - JAN 8, 2004
On tap at the Brew Pub in Ashburn. Amber color. Not much of a head. Faint aroma. Malt maybe but I can't tell. Smooth, citrusy, kind of bitter. But nothing to write home about. Overall OK. jeffc666 (1984) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - OCT 14, 2003
Pale clear amber. Very little nose what there is all malt. Neutral malt and some hop bitterness. Smooth medium body. Not too much else to say about this one.

Light copper-gold. Nose is crisp and clean, not much there. Flavor is overly bitter, don't get much malt character. Decent, nothing fancy. jgb9348 (6590) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - AUG 24, 2003
Light copper in colour with a thin white head. Clean malty aroma with almost no hops. Medium-bodied; Citrus taste, strong malt, little hops in the taste. Aftertaste bittered from malt. Not great nor horrible. Overall, an average amber ale. I had this on draught at the Old Dominion Brewpub in Ashburn, Virginia on 23-August-2003. JonR888710 (999) - Cochabamba, BOLIVIA - JUN 22, 2003
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2003 Light brass colored body with a thin white head. Very thin and clear looking. Aroma smells of clean malt and is faint. Taste is unbalanced with about 75% sweet malt and 25% bitter, grapefruit hops. Metallic finish. All in all, far below what I'd expected. Just a normal amber. Sampled on tap at the Dominion Brewpub in Ashburn, VA. Volgon (2761) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 13, 2002
On tap GABF 02: This may be the best American lager I've ever had. Clear amber color, moderate floral nose, smooth palate. Starts and ends bitter. Very clean tasting with a brief, but nice aftertaste.
