. This style is a Belgian wheat beer spiced with coriander and sweet orange peel. An unfiltered golden colored ale with a fruity trappist yeast. A crowd pleaser. Great beer to pick up your spirits after mowing the lawn. Or to get your head working better after a days work in the old cube farm. SRM: 8

Hazy orange. Great lacing. White head vanishes. Coriander is prevalent if not over powering. Nice beer with a bit of kick. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught in Raleigh. Pours golden-orange with a small white head. Aroma is wheat malt, coriander, bit of yeast, some sweet fruit notes. Flavor is mainly wheat malt and coriander as well, sort of witbier-ish. Hint of funkiness, though not very saisony really. Nonetheless, enjoyable.

My favorite for the night, fragrant aroma, light clear golden color, no head or lacing, clean and fresh, some alcoholoic notes and grapes

Draught at The Pit. Light orange with a small fast fading head. Nose is pretty faint, some grass, yeast, light bready malt. Flavor is similar. Drinkable, but not much of a saison. Very dull and lacking character.

Sucked a few of these back at Kings, Raleigh, while immersed in the molten sounds of the mighty YOB. Cloudy pale gold pour with a very thick head and a pretty lively carbonation. Soft yeasts and bready malts in the nose, with doses of dry hops and spice. Full, smooth mouthfeel with just a bit of playfulness on the palate. Taste is dominated by the same yeasts and malts familiar from their tripel, and really comes across more like a biere de garde. But I thought it was okay overall.

on tap at Aviator Taphouse. 03/04/11. Good aroma, sweet, spice. Grainy, bready, little funk and spice, Lemon, oregano, coriander, banana. Little hazed, golden orange color, good head and lace. Tart sweet flavor, Medium body, creamy smooth mouthfeel, dry finish. Good, has its own signature, wheat gives it an extra boost.

Brownish orange, thin ring of foam. Faint aroma - lightly spicy, with subdued herbal notes. A bit sweeter and heavier than I was expecting - notes of citrus and cinnamon, plus some herbal notes. On tap, Flying Saucer, Raleigh.

Growler. Pours soft straw gold with one finger of frothy white head. Nose is muted, notes of spicy hops and moist bread. Lots of diacetyl/butter comes out with warmth. Flavor is no good, way too much of a bite and definitely some buttery notes with hints of corn and grass. Dry bitter palate.

On tap at the Federal. Pours slightly hazy, not very carbonated golden. Barely any head. A little hoppy, some floral and citric notes, yeast, and Belgian sugar. Pretty standard saison at first. The problem was when I closed my eyes and smelled it, all I could think about was the cheap sweet floral aromatics used in port-a-potties. Kind of gross that way. That said, pretty decent when I could repress that thought.

Draft - pours a cloudy dark yellow with a thin whitish head. Aroma of flowers, hops, yeast and fruit. Taste of floral hops, sour fruit (apricot), yeast and coriander... I really enjoyed this beer. My wife loved it. Solid selection I am glad we tried.
