The States were at war and one fateful day a troop of Union soldiers, occupying what is now Avondale Park, came across a posse of Confederate Home Guards. When shots were exchanged near the house of the town sheriff, a stray bullet struck his wife in the breast as she stood on the porch of her house. Luckily, she made a full recovery!

Cybercat (5565) - Georgia, USA - FEB 21, 2017
Can. Pours hazy golden with a substantial, frothy, pale buff head. Aroma features resiny hops and citrus tones, sharp and inviting. Flavor adds a little wood to the hop character, just a bit of bitterness, a hint of malt. Mouthfeel delivers typical body and OK fizz. Not a resounding victory, but wins the battle of the taste buds.

3fourths (9299) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 27, 2016
UPDATED: MAY 10, 2016 Hazed amber-gold with a white head of some retention. Aroma is crude American hops: Simcoe-like cattiness, garlic butter, fresh cut pine, brined lemon, floral soap. Medium bodied, semi-sweet with surprisingly restrained bitterness. Carbonation is fine and silky, and the body has some decent savoriness, and more tropical fruit notes emerge in the finish, which are more pleasant than the aroma hops. From 12oz can.

Aroma of Pine, some hints of citrus. Orange color with a thin tan head. Sweet up front. Caramel is rich, followed by pine, a hint of grapefruit, more caramel, and then some earthy bitterness. Medium mouth feel, with a slightly bitter finish and some slight alcohol burn.. Average...more like a hoppy pale ale.

[ bottle ][ 1.5oz ][ @Tasting ][ $ ? ][ schnapps flute ][ 12.20.15 ]
copper-gold, heavy particulate with dense cream head, large bubbles. Empty but resinous nose, light paper amidst the oily profile. Front palate is extremely sweet a la dogfish, thick orange-candy esque sweetness, resin cleans by late palate but then dominantly soapy through bitter finish. Yuck.
