COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Pours a clear, dark reddish-brown with a tall, beige head. Aroma is sweet cereal, chocolate, roast nuts, toast, wholesome thick bread crust, and hints of spicy, planty and floral hops. Flavor is chocolate, light roast, planty hops dusty toast and nice mellow toasted nut notes. Finishes a little sweeter with a hint of toffeed nuts, mild coffee, earth and chocolate. Palate is medium body has a neutral too lightly dry and syrupy entry, light carbonation and fairly dry finish. Good stuff, lots of flavor and chocolatey richness in a moderately light package.

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Cigarette City. Appearance is clear red with slight orange, trace sparkle, two-finger width foamy beige head with fair retention and soapy lacing. Aroma is light fruit, yeast, malts, earth. Taste is European/noble hops, light roasted malt, nuts. Palate is medium bodied with slick texture, lively carbonation and mostly sweet but dry finish. Overall, aroma and taste are muted compared to the usual American beers I have, but still good.

Bottle in Seattle. Short creamy tan head. Dark, bright, clear red brown. Nice deep, warm roasted malt. Lovely fruit and tannin. Smooth, round warm malt base, with just a hint of sharpness that cuts through at finish. Fantastic, platonic balance. Nice.

Deep brown/copper color, clean, with a lightly beige compact head. Aroma is caramel, coffee, bread crust. Taste is nutty, caramel, roasted malts. Not too sweet, nice balanced bitterness, dry finish. Medium body, low carbonation, very easy too drink. Very enjoyable. Whatever style they make, Ayinger once again revealed to be always between the bests. This is one of the best dunkels on the market in my opinion.
