Fragrance and taste of the “yeast-cloudy” wheat beer are distinguished by a refined top-fermented flowery-yeast character and an unmistakable, distinct banana aroma. First sensation on the taste buds is full-bodied, very soft and mild with a lively, champagne-like sparkle. A light, typical wheat beer taste is expressed, the bitter tone of which can scarcely be detected. The sparklingly refreshing Ayinger Bräuweisse will impress every wheat beer connoisseur with the first mouthful. 11.8°

Part of the LCBO 2017 Summer Program, I was eager to try this one. Although one of the best in its class, I did find it a bit watery. A must try.

Bottle from German beersupermarket. A decent beer, felt like a wheat lager more than most hefeweizen, a bit thin.

-Nedre foss gård- Banana, spicy and light creamy finish. Superb. Well done.

March 10th, 2015 - I have another Ayinger up to bat tonight, and based on the quality of the Urweisse I'm very excited to give the Brauweisse a try. From bottle to glass, it gives a thick lapping sort of sound, and fills the glass with a thick, soupy brew, and a sizeable head on top. The aroma is nice and spritzy, with lemon and lime, and enough carbonation to tickle the nostrils on every swoop into the brew's atmosphere. The palate is also light and fuzzy, with more of a lemon sheen and a short aftertaste - something like a shandy. Refreshing, but not so sweet as a shandy, this could rival other options as an after dinner treat.

Tap at the Canal House. Pours cloudy pale gold with thin white broken lace. Aroma is indeed floral, herbal and spicy with a definite yeasty scent. Taste is medium sweet to sour. Palate is medium body, slick, fizzy, lively carbonation, but I don't know if I would describe the finish as either long or abrupt. One is left tingling.

Bottiglia 50 cL @ Valhalla Pub, Pavia. Colore giallo paglierino, torbida. Schiuma bianca soffice. Profumi delicati e tipici (pane, frumento, banana). Al palato è poco amara, acidula e frizzante. Dissetante.

Holmen2 (4394) - NORWAY - OCT 30, 2017
Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 30.10.17. Cloudy pale straw colour. Very little head and lacing. Aroma of wheat, yeast, hay and green banana. Taste of green banana, vegetables, wheat and a hint of coriander.
