Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

It’s my five year anniversary for joining RateBeer, so I thought to celebrate this great feat by having a style I rarely rate. In five years, I’ve come around to really appreciate all styles for what they are, rather than focus on my original love of IPAs and Stouts. I’ve come a long way. Anyway. Aroma is clove, wheat, banana, fruity, slight hop, eh. Appearance is golden, hazy, white head. Taste is wheat, fruity, slight banana and clove, earthy hop, good. Mouthfeel is light body, light crisp carbonation, wheat and hop aftertaste. Overall, I was expecting this to be not great by the aroma, but the banana and clove are dialed back to let the wheat shine in this. Well done for a style I typically avoid.

on [email protected]; unripe banana accompanied by traces of nutmeg and cloves on a yoghurtlike undercurrent of refreshing almost-tartness; quite a dry finish; flawless and totally balanced.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2017 Pours a hazy yellow with a medium sized head. Aroma is of spice with banana in the back. Taste follows the nose. Overall this is a good beer I just wish the banana flavor came out a bit more.

Boca 0,5L- ravno iz ’obećane zemlje’...odlično pivo, mala zamjerka ide mirisu ali zato je okusom odlično, nevjerovatno pitko, usklađeno, ima sve što jedan hefe-weizen mora imati...

Bottle in Seattle. Proper German bottle gifted by SinH4 when he came in to town this week. Thick foam pour, lovely, perfectly hazed lemon gold. Delicious, complex banana and fresh fruit, almost tropical, nose. Some baking dough as well, from nose straight through to sip. Pale banana flavors, but with a lovely spicy carbonation. Does give a champagne impression, with a rounder fresh fruit base. Adding the yeast swirl mellows the flavors some, with some increased depth as well. Full and balanced mouthfeel. Quintessential.

I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours cloudy orange with a big, fluffy, white head and lacing. The aroma is banana, spice, and bread. The taste is banana, spice, bread, lemon, and orange peel. It’s very smooth but also has nice carbonation. It tastes really fresh. This is a great beer and the best of the style I’ve ever had.

Ar: Restrained lemon and floral aromas; lean banana on the background. Ap: Straw yellow with some golden highlights at the thickets point in the glass; big white head with great retention, leaving a solid, stiff cap of foam with chunks of lacing left on the side of the glass; cloudy. T: Moderate banana and fresh, doughy wheat malt; soft sweetness with touches of spicy, floral hops; a bit of banana and peach on the finish with a clean bitterness and lemony tartness. P: Medium, creamy body with high carbonation; finish is quite dry. O: Very nice German hefeweizen, one of the most refreshing of the great style examples, owing to the lemon notes and very pale, brisk malt profile.

Draft at Lizard! Hazy, straw like in color. Not very aromatic,. Taste wonderful with bananas. This does have carbonation like champagne. Smooth on the palate. Overall this is just a wonderful beer!
