On tap at Jodlerwirt, Munich. Pours light golden and clear with thick white head. Almost no malt smell and no hop smell. Tasted a little harsh and with almost no malt taste compared to the good helles. I did not like it at all. Of the premium helles, this is at the bottom.

50cl bottle. Clear golden, thick white head. Graint malty, buttery aroma. Flavor has grain, light bitterness, buttery notes. Low carbonation, light bitterness, tasty.

Splendidamente beverina. Buona! Da bere a ettolitri.

0.5 l bottle as present... Minimal head, clear golden color... Nice hop aroma... Medium bitter taste... I enjoyed it...

50 cl bottle @ home as ”Ayinger Lager Hell”, BBE 04/2013
Rather foamy stuff to be a German lager; started to come out of the bottle a moment after opening and my Ayinger glass was half head half liquid after the pour. Very bright appearance. Aroma has butter, some grassy hops, hints of herbs and grain. Flavour has butter, some harsh gooseberry bush notes, grain, hints of grassy hops and distant herbal notes. The hops feel a bit old and harsh here, perhaps would have been better fresh.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2017 Draught. A yellow beer with a normal white head. The aroma is hoppy, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of hops as well as grass. Also some bitterness.

50cl bottle, Bierzwerg des Monats Dez 2012. - Pours clear bright gold, nice head, modest aroma. - Crisp, somewhat dry&sweetish pilsener type Helles: decent hop bitterness with unusual rich marzipan malt notes, some yeasty acidity. All in all unique tasting pilsner/Helles, not completely thirst-quenching (too dry &sweet for that), yet full of taste.

Kristall-König (2820) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - JAN 9, 2013
In der Nase Getreidenoten, etwas muffig, pappig. Mild-süßlicher Antrunk. Mitte mild-süß, kaum Herbe. Abgang verhalten würzig und moderate Bitterkeit. Trinkbar.

Gravity cask at Ayinger Speis und Trank, Munich: Color indeterminable (served in a ceramic mug). Persistent silky white foam. Inviting spicy hop nose with a mild note of tea, licorice and earthy malt. Very rustic. Soft, natural, tiny-bubbled carbonation. Opens with a snappy cookie and dusty yeast signature which sits atop a crunchy mineral backbone. Malt is crackly, though considerably deep with a bouncy cookie edge which shows good melanoidin girth beneath the earthier and snappier straw notions. Intriguing dollop of creamed coffee entwined with a hazelnut earthiness, ensues. Splash of fresh peach and a dab of cotton candy adds further mystique, as does faint plum skin, with delicate acids and all. Loads of dry malt augment the through-the-roof quaffability. Plentiful sassy hop spice is sprinkled throughout. Closes nicely hoppy with intricately-woven earth and spice elements which beautifully match the snappy and gently earthy, bitter edge of the Munich malt. Perhaps a wee bit thin, but overall a very juicy, well-balanced example with tremendously soft and fine carbonation. Drinks much more like a kellerbier than a helles, as the hops are more spicy than herbal/floral, the dark malt is rustic, and the yeast quite dusty. Would gladly make this my everyday drinker.
