50 cl bottle @ home as Ayinger Lager Hell, BBE 04/2013
Rather foamy stuff to be a German lager; started to come out of the bottle a moment after opening and my Ayinger glass was half head half liquid after the pour. Very bright appearance. Aroma has butter, some grassy hops, hints of herbs and grain. Flavour has butter, some harsh gooseberry bush notes, grain, hints of grassy hops and distant herbal notes. The hops feel a bit old and harsh here, perhaps would have been better fresh.

(Ayinger Hell) Bottle 500ml as Ayinger Lager Hell, ABV 4.9% Golden yellow colour on the body, clear, with lots of activity in it and two fingers of soapy white head on top, good retention. The aroma has bread and grass. Taste ismildly bitter at firtst, old grass, bread, light hop presence, then malty sweetness on the finish. Medium thin body, carbonation on good levels. Okay, nothing exciting.

Bottle from Gourmeo24. Golden beer with white head. Aroma has malts, hay, bread and butter. Flavour is the same with some grassy hops. Very smooth and oily mouthfeel and perfect balance. Ayinger doesnt fail.

Draught. Clear golden pour, tall frothy head. Stays. Bizarrre lacing. Grains. cereals, minerals make the aroma. Light body. Oily texture. Smooth sweetish clean malts start the flavour. Bready notes. Light mild spicy hop bitterness comes in later and lingers on. The class is obvious.

Tap at Ayinger Brustberl, from wooden barrel. Ah. So this is what Helles can be! Juicy, malty, sweet, but all in a good way. Delicious. Ultra drinkable, smooth and nice. Crisp, sharp, to the point. Great.
