50 cl bottle @ home as ”Ayinger Lager Hell”, BBE 04/2013
Rather foamy stuff to be a German lager; started to come out of the bottle a moment after opening and my Ayinger glass was half head half liquid after the pour. Very bright appearance. Aroma has butter, some grassy hops, hints of herbs and grain. Flavour has butter, some harsh gooseberry bush notes, grain, hints of grassy hops and distant herbal notes. The hops feel a bit old and harsh here, perhaps would have been better fresh.
0.5 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’ as ’Ayinger Lager Hell’, best before January 2018. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy-spicy aroma of grains, straw and slightest hints of citrus. Moderately sweet, minimally bitter, slightly grassy-spicy taste of grains, straw and traces of citrus, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately grassy-spicy finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Okay! Lonick (2122) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 4, 2017
Keg, 6 North, Edinburgh. Pours golden thin white head. Nose is citrus fruits and floral notes. Taste is lemon, slight zest, grass/hay, wet grass and some rice. Steffan (93) - WALES - AUG 1, 2017
Opens with yeast aroma, large smooth head, yellow colour. Taste has subtle hop opening with some slightly rough grainy malts in the aftertaste. A great beer better drunk in a 1litre stein with two bottles. To appeciate in volume. daniele (9219) - ITALY - JUL 29, 2017

Pours little hazy golden with frothy white head. Moderate head retention, little lacing. Malty nose, some DMS. Taste is griany sweet with a little hoppy twist. Nice hell, sweet, clean, smooth and enjoyable.
Bottle at Beerdock Leek. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of bready malts, grain, slight straw and subtle grass. Taste of bready malts, straw, some grain, a hint of lemons and subtle spicy, grassy hops. Light to medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, harsh, malty bitterness in the finish. A very malt heavy lager but with a harsh bitterness in the finish. Flavourful for a Helles but maybe a little to bitter. DejanSt (69) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAY 25, 2017
