COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was first brewed in 1978 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our brewery. It has a golden-yellow color with a slightly flowery yeast, honey-ish aroma, tastes a little spicy and is full-bodied in initial taste, mild before swallowing and soft with a refined sparkle and fades with a well-balanced hint of bitterness. It is an especially drinkable and harmonious beer. Conrad Seidl, known as the Austrian “Pope of Beers”, on the Jahrhundert-Bier: “It is a malty beer that pronounces the precious earthy quality of malted barley.”

josanguapo (1865) - SPAIN - JUL 13, 2017
From Bierkraft. In Bavaria hefe glass. At dinner, after futsal match, with turkey steaks + maccaroni bolognesa, then playing Brothers a Tale of Two Sons. The very definition of drinkability, with a really fresh herbal/grassy hops profile

Alebarasi (149) - Dobrova, SLOVENIA - JUL 8, 2017
Pale , clear yellow color with foamy white head. Average carbonation, medium body, no lacing. Smell of malts, bread, honey, yeast, wheat, biscuits and grains. Slightly sweet taste of caramel, yeast, honey, malts, straw, bread and grains. Some floral notes in between. No overwhelming lager taste. Nice and fresh.

Dogbrick (13554) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 21, 2017
Clear yellow color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of floral hops, malt and fruit. Light-bodied with flavors of mild hops, bready malt and fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a floral hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

17Beer (405) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 14, 2017
Malt andyeast smells of sourgrass. Pours a cloudy bubbly pale gold with a bright white head with microscopic bubbles. Light and clean flavored with an astringent finish that sings to why lager beer overtook the world. This is what it’s supposed to be. Crisp and drinkable without being simple or weak.

Towey1989 (3168) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2017
Bottle at Beerdock Leek. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grain, some bready malts, slight honey and subtle grassy hops. Taste of grain, bready malts, subtle honey and some grassy hops. Light bodoed and moderate carbonation. A dry, subtly sulphuric, grassy hop bitterness in the finish. A good lager, typical German malts with lots of grassy hops. Good.

Bottle from a now unrecalled source. Poured clear golden/yellow with a moderate sized frothy white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, caramel, yeast and grass. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation.

Kampfar (284) - Osnabrück, GERMANY - MAY 11, 2017
From 0.5 L bottle; pours clear, yellow with a white head. Aroma malty with light bread and slightly hoppy with grassy hints. Taste is light bread, malty with a low bitterness. Light to medium body, average carbonation. OK, for me that’s an average Helles.
