Pours a beautiful amber honey with a white to slightly off white head of tightly packed bubbles. It’s quite stunning. Wonderful aroma, like fresh bread: caramel, bread, roasty nuts, light resin, floral hops, some barnyard, some raisin, some soy sauce, some vanilla... quite complex. Taste is very well balanced. Lingering dry bitter finish is nice BUT I detected a strange soapy glue mouthfeel. Almost felt like I had licked to many envelopes... This might be from my serving temperature (much warmer than usual) OR I had some hamburger meat while reviewing. ANYWAY, great beer, highly recommend, would drink again, will buy again. Ayinger Octo pours a beautifully rich golden hue. Doughy aroma filled with delightful caramel and grain notes. Sweet malt upfront with a pretty thick mouthfeel ending with a big rich finish. A great Marzen! adavis234 (288) - Charleston, South Carolina, USA - JAN 31, 2009
500ml bottle. Pours an orange-gold color with a thick, white head. Sweet malty, yeasty aroma. Delicious combination of malts and citrus on the palate with a slightly bitter hop aftertaste. A refreshing brew that is a steal for the price. BeerZack (288) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - SEP 18, 2012
Easy drinking, well balanced beer that has the same inviting maltiness as other examples of the style, but without the oft lingering sweetness. Creamy feeling natural carbonation is there for those who can appreciate it. Try this one before you say you don’t like Fest biers. Jury (288) - RUSSIA - DEC 24, 2016

Sweet and malty beginning, light, somewhat watery, sticky fruity and flowery hops. Fair Oktoberfest.

Golden, yellow beer with a big fluffy white head. Looks very carbonated. Smells like apples and malty. Flavour is less like apple juice and more of a general sweet fruitiness, though not overwhelming. Flavour is balanced by slight hint of nuts and spices. Clean taste, refreshing. kingaugusta (282) - Georgia, USA - SEP 12, 2016
Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. Nose is Bavarian hops and sweet German malts. Flavor is similar and rich and very well balanced with a touch of spice. Body is smooth and light. Very drinkable. seehaferb23 (281) - - SEP 13, 2015

As Ayinger Kirtabier. 500 ml bottle, served in dimpled mug. Pours cloudy dark orange unfiltrated, beige foamy head. Bread, grain, citrus, floral notes, malty, caramel. Nice hoppy bitterness and slight malty sweetness. Very nice! Well balanced. Medium bodied, soft carbonated. Bitter finish with some malts in the end. Incredibly smooth. Fantastic Märzen! Masterpiece of Upper Bavarian brew art.
