Slightly ruby redish color, very good carbonation. Very malty, and lightly sweet aroma. Dry, mildly bready flavor, good mild bitterness. I agree with the herbal notes others have mentioned as well.

What a great lager. The fresh, live, citrusy flavor is exquisitely judged. And quite the kick on this baby! Terrific brewing.

on tap. Great tasting beer for the month of October. Wonderful, though I liked the Paulaner better.

500 mL bottle. Thought I loved Sam’s Octoberfest, but it doesn’t compare as far as flavor profile. The depth of flavors in this Marzen is incredible. I’m ready to go to Germany now for the real deal. Can’t even describe in words. Wish it was easier to find around here. I had to order it through my bar and make it the beer of the month, but they ran out after I got my first and only case. Will start earlier next year.

On tap at Bruuveri, Helsinki. A bit on the amber side of the color spectrum, good size head. Great malty sweetness, the palate is in balance as well. A great Festbier.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thick White head on top of a golden body. Smells yeasty, of grape juice, spicy, and floral. Very smooth and mellow flavors, hints of caramel, and hops with a slightly fruity finish. I think I like the Paulaner Maerzen better. Very good beer, great for long bouts of drinking, due to the smoothness and not too aggressive flavors.

Celebrated with this one while watching the Red Sox World Series parade. A fine beer for a great moment and a great team.
Pours a beautiful copper/golden color with a thick foamy off-white (almost tan) head. Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful malty notes and a sweet malty flavor that is exquisite on your palate. Loved it. If you look at my other reviews of Ayinger beers, you’ll see that I’m a huge fan of their brews. This one is no exception. Highly recommended.

Poured into lager glass, pours clear gold with decent head. Full flavored beer that finishes clean.
