Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

50cl bottle. Pours slightly hazy deep amber colour with a mid-sized most good lasting beige head. Aroma of toasted malt, mild dryish fruits, caramel. Taste of toasted malt, mild fruits, caramel, some floral hops.

Draught at Bishops Arms Gamla Stan, Stockholm. Clear deep copper beer with a nice and lasting offwhite head. Malty caramel aroma, fruity, biscuits, grapes, bready, some toffee. Malty caramel flavor, grapes, raisins, biscuits, bready, some hay and with spicy notes. Clean and very drinkable.

mcberko (17854) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 15, 2010
500mL bottle, pours golden amber with a white head. Aroma of grains, sweet malt and some floral hops. Flavour is pretty much the same - solid.

Bottled 500ml (Alko, BB 05/2013)
"Ayinger Kirtabier". Slightly hazy amber color, steady creamy off-white head. Woody malty nose with hints of caramalt. Perharps some vegetable-sourness lurking in the background. Medium-bodied. Caramalt, bready maltyness, some leafy hoppyness in the aftertaste. Solid Märzen, although not the best of Ayinger.

Dark honey brown, good cloudy head. Aroma is crisp, lemon and berries. Malty with grassy hops. Pleasant mouthfeel. Really good beer for celebration of Oktoberfest.(5/4/7/4/14 3.4)
Re-rated, draught Copper brown, small steady white head, lots of lace. Floral hoppy nose. Dry, chalky, hoppy flavor with typical märzen notes. Dry long aftertaste. One of the best of this style. (6/4/7/4/14 3.5)

One of the better marzens I’ve had. Pour is copper. Nose and taste of banana, caramels and lots of lightly toasted malts. Rated 7/3/02

500ml bottle (Janoinen Lohi, Helsinki, Kalakierros 2013)
Super malty aroma. Taste is even maltier, pure barley. Plenty of yeastiness too. Hazy orange, fizzy carbonation. Then gets a bit flat. Love the malts, but it feels a bit wrong in the mouth. Malt-juice.

Keg (St. Urho’s, Helsinki)
Rich orange, tiny head. Woody aroma. Nutty edge to a dry woody taste. Rich, burnt corners too. Soft palate. Smooth grainy body. Very tasty.

bhensonb (15251) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 1, 2007
500 ml. bottle. Nice bready aroma accompanied by floral hop. Amber color with a frothy off-white head. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Flavors of caramel, bread and flowers/herbs. Very smooth. Slightly caramel sweet. This carries into the finish, but there are floral hop notes to help balance that. Something of floral, herbal tastes at the end of the finish. It is really very tasty.

Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 2, 2010

Flavors of toasted malt, carmel and just a hint of hops with a smooth dry lingering malty finish. This is one MALTY mother of a beer!
