COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

From a 500-ml bottle. Pours a golden color with a very thick head. Aromas are subtle--faint grass and malt. Flavors are caramel with subdued citrus notes and a very subtle malt bite. A decent, well-rounded beer.

Marzen espectacular, de lo mejor en su categora, se bebe sola, en paladar es un espectculo, olor a cereales que llama. Repetira sin dudar.

smroush (303) - Michigan, USA - DEC 2, 2017
Aromas of toffee and bread with hints of butterscotch, molasses and some nutty flavor. Pretty much no hop aromas.

Color is a clear attractive amber; head is a sparse off-white.

Taste starts wit a little sweetness but then finishes dry. Light bitterness.

Texture is a bit lively carbonation; light to medium body; medium length finish.

Overall a pretty true to form Marzen, though relatively low complexity.

Great taste - especially when pouring it straight from the tap at the brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Øl fra øverste hylde. Virkelig god øl af denne type. Dejlig frisk. Tilpas bitter

Aroma is caramel and toast. Taste is both fruity and a tad sour, but at the same time sweet, with caramel and toast bread.

From Oct 2006

Poured from 500ml bottle(label says it is 5.6%abv) a clear amber gold with a medium sized head of foam that shrank to a fine layer quickly.

The smell has some sweet malt and nutty notes but it's pretty delicate.

The taste has a nice caramel malty flavour with some of the nuttiness I noted in the nose followed by well, more of the same. ;^)
I do sense a bit of hop bitterness near the finish but the finish itself is quite malty. This is a pretty good Oktoberfest but there are others that I prefer.

Keg at Brauhaus Schmitz. Pours orange gold with a thin white head. Aroma is grain, malt and a little orange. Taste is malty and has a little sweetness with some caramel and orange in there. Decent enough.

On tap at DomCraft. Deep golden with white head. Aroma and taste are malty, bread, light toast, faint caramels, some residual sugars, earthy and herby hops and light grass. Good!

Hiledd (135) - Massachusetts, USA - OCT 8, 2017
Flora, piney, citrus aroma. Clear orange brown color, thin white head. Bubbly mouthfeel with chewy bread and malt texture. Toffee, pear, dried fruit, honey, and pumpkin flavors with a spicy, thyme?, finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
