Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Aroma of roasted grain, bread, a touch of caramel, and floral hops. Mild taste with some hop bitterness, grain, and a bit of ashes. Slick mouthfeel. Very drinkable.

TET (3124) - Kaarina, FINLAND - SEP 21, 2012
A beautiful, reddish beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma of smooth malts, toffee, hint of berries and of smoke. Nice aroma, but it’s difficult to get out aromas. Taste is malty and bready, hint of roastiness and smoke, aftertaste is nicely dry. Medium bodied, nice to drink. High-quality and enjoyable beer again from Ayinger.

Location: 500 ml bottle from Buy Rite, 9/23/12

Aroma: It has a clean, malty aroma, caramel, bread, and notes of vegetables
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with a small head and light lace on the glass
Flavor: The flavor has a clean, crisp maltiness, caramel and bready flavors similar to the nose
Palate: The body is light, leaning medium, it is rather drinkable, with a clean feel, and a crisp finish
Overall Impression: Alright, Kramer, ticking this one just for you buddy! Not a bad beer at all, but still not significantly better then anything else in this style for me to really have a strong feeling about it. I wanted to really like it, I did. However, it is really just solid, highly drinkable, but just unexciting...and you could really describe my entire opinion on this style that way. It really isn’t much better then the standards like Hofbrau, Hacker-Pschorr, Sam Adams, etc.

esox (1225) - Oulu, FINLAND - SEP 29, 2012
Amber and somewhat hazy beer with lacy head. Fresh, bready maltiness, yeast and a good pinch of herbal hops. Round, bready malts, slightly honeyish. Dryish finish with yeast and mellow bitterness. Medium body, soft texture, slightly oily.

Draught. Clear, darkish golden colour, thin creamy head. Lovely, deep malt aroma has creamy toffee notes and, sweet breadiness and some grains. Delicate frutiness, dates and dried apricots. Light herbal hoppiness and noticable bitterness for the style make it well balanced. Very smooth texture, almost full body and very good drinkability. A high-class märzen!

500 ml bottle. Hazy reddish amber colout, medium off-white head. Malty, slightly earthy aroma with notes of yeast and grassy hops. The flavour is bready-malty, with yeasty and fruity notes, and a moderately bitter, grassy-hoppy finish. Medium-bodied, smoothly carbonated.

The commercial description gets the general idea to you nicely, otherwise: white head that dissipates quickly, floral notes, sweet taste. Overall a really good oktoberfestbier, one of the better ones I’ve tried.

Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - OCT 20, 2012
0.5 l bottle from Alko. Slightly hazy copper color. Sweet bready and toasty malt aroma with nuts and toffee. Sweet malty taste with toffee, toasted bread, honey, some herbal notes and low bitterness. Fruitininess comes when sediment is added. Medium body. Well made, at first this felt somewhat unexciting but sediment nicely adds richness and complexity. Goes well with pizza.
Earlier Rating: 9/17/2007 Total Score: 3.7
Draught at Old Brick’s Inn, Jyväskylä. Copper to amber color with creamy head. Sweetish, toasty and toffeish aroma. Very rich malty flavor with toasty, nutty and caramelly notes. Mild bitterness, just enough for a balance. Very good maltiness, good beer with various foods.

BrewBoxer (2651) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 24, 2013
Draft at the stone street tavern NYC. Taste crisp and malty with a nice bready fall flavor. Petty good for a style I generally don't like ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
