Smooth. Malty. Good flavors. A little heavy on my stomach. Slight floral hop flavor and aroma. I'd drink this again. beerslayer (753) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 9, 2002
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2004 Not a bad seasonal caramel malt flavor. Drinkable........................... beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 16, 2002
Medium gold color, large head. A lighter bodied Marzen. Smooth malts, slightly hopped, somewhat fruity, banana and clove. Smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is smooth. Aftertaste is slightly malty, with a slight bitterness. krisbierjaeger (844) - dolores, Colorado, USA - SEP 20, 2002
corn husk yellow with an exceptional head: fluffy like a burst down pillow. good nose, but disappointing: ive been disparaging a few of this season's other marzens for being craven and scrawny. while this shows some musculature, it ain't no 'arnold' (i mean the weightlifter, not the pig). decent clover floral bouquet, 'barenjager' liquer honey alcohol notes, but seemingly sniffed through a veil. smooth carbonation on the tongue, bitter finish; malt surprisingly understated, so only modest sweetness is noted. likewise, with my rating, i'd like to be sweet with flattery, but the beer is as embraceable as a faithful but wet dog.

Amber colour. Peculiar nose full of boiled spagetti. Malty, and with pleasant soft mouthfeel, just the way I like in this beer style. Not overly sweet, with medium bitterness in the finish. mdi (573) - Nebraska, USA - JUL 6, 2003
Pours hazey orange, with a massive head. Active beer. Malty aroma with carmel and maybe some herbs??
smooth malt flavor, toasty, with a bit of hops spice. Sweet finish.
Very enjoyable, but too sweet in the end...would have preferred a lighter body or some more bitterness or both. Sham (1844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 22, 2003
Nice gold-amber color with a thin film of head, spotty lace. Bitter citrus aroma, some malt showing up. Sweet malts and a bit of doughy/yeast in the flavors. Nice palate. Pretty good marzen. booyaatribe (453) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 23, 2003
Good and sweet. I'm not absolutely blown away, because I think it could use a bit more body, but good complexity of flavors. fly (1487) - austin, Tejas, Texas, USA - MAY 19, 2004
Nice and malty and very much in the vein I like this style. Not too syrupy sweet and very easily drinkable.
