COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2006 Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours hazy amber color with a white head, aroma of sweet malts, citrus, and hops. Flavor is malty, sweet, citrus, and spice. Not my favorite Oktoberfest, but good.

Bottle Pours a caramel tan with a off-white head. The aroma is of bready malts with a hint of sweetness. The flavor is very clean. The malts of course come through strongly, but are not overbearing. Just a hint of spiciness, but not much. A very mellow Oktoberfest.

On tap @ WL Beford Hts., 16 oz tapered mug: Very cloudy light amber w/ a lasting, well lacing, off white head. Aromas of bready malts, raisiny fruits from mix of malts and fermentation, clean of other off aromas. Well balanced overall, clean, lightly sweet finish, with toasty malt flavor throughout lasting into the aftertaste. Low carbonation level, smooth medium body. Not my favorite O fest, but likeable enough!

Bottle. Pours a somewhat light copper with a big, rocky, offwhite head. The aroma is grainy with some lemon and cookiedough. It has a deeply grainy flavor with quite a bit of caramel, some hints of orange, and after a while a molasses-like sweetness. It’s mostly kind of sweet, but the finish has some woody and smoky tones. Not bad.

MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 2, 2006
Poured a hazy orange, mild white head. Nutty aroma, flavor was definelty malty with a bitter hop taste. Not my favorite Oct fest but a good one none the less. Thanks to Stegosaurus for this one.

PilsnerPeter (3045) - Flushing, New York, USA - OCT 6, 2006
Pours a deep bronze/golden with off-white head. Thick quality malt aroma with a hint of spicyness. Flavor is very malty, and hint of sweetness, bready. It’s bitterness is extremely light, however it’s still balanced. However, it’s nothing great, especially compared to Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest.

Pint at Pizza Plant. No head just microscopic white ring, orange body. Fruity and satisfying malt mix with caramel, and not too sweet, toasted nutty understated in background.higher than desired carbonation.Medium bodied.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2012 500 ML bottle from Cork ’N Bottle. Cloudy orange color, sweet malty aroma, good head retention with minimal lacing, good toasted malt flavor with some complexity and banana and yeasty notes. At first it tastes like an attempt to cross a hefeweizen with a marzen but the fruit-like components of the taste diminish as the glass warms. Nice brew.

Not a big lager fan and even less of an octoberfest fan but tried this beer because a friend raved about it. And I must say, its pretty good. big foamy head and a dark gold color. A fruity aroma pleasently presents itself. the taste is somewhat like a wheat beer and a dopplebock with a yeasty finish. Agood beer from a great brewery.

Optigon (562) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - SEP 26, 2007
Pours clear, brown, witha large, fluffy head. Aroma is sweet, grassy, and malty. Moderate mouth feel with a sweet, malty, grassy flavor. Clean, sweet aftertaste follows.
