Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

I generally don’t prefers lagers, but this is a fantastic example of marzen. A very light, clear amber color with a small head. Aroma is subtle but with sweet, caramel nose. Light taste that is one of that smoothest beers I’ve ever had.

330 ml single bottle from Molly’s Spirits for $3.37. Clear, light amber appearance with a fluffy beige head. Aroma of Munich malt, bread, toasted grain, mild hops and light caramel/toffee. Similar flavor, adding mild to moderate sweetness, light to mild bitterness and a lingering Munich malt finish. Medium body with ample carbonation. Clean, smooth and easy to drink. Probably not too fresh, but this is drinking nicely. Spot on.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark Amber body with just a very small short lived off-white head. The nose is sweet caramel and Munich malt with a little toasted malt and minimal to no hops. The flavor is a little bit on the thinner side, with a bit more toasty huskiness than I’d prefer. Pretty well lacking in hops as well. I suppose it’s ok, but it’s not especially smooth or satisfying. Light bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a lingering husky finish. Meh. Lower tier Oktoberfest.

Rated on 10-22-2016 at 800 Degrees Three Fires, Fort Wayne, IN at a German event. The appearance when served is a small beige head that is mostly lasting, transparent golden body, very little fast rising carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma is aromatic, light hops and malt. The flavor presents light hops, malt and lightly sweet. The mouthfeel is smooth and this is a light bodied beer. A very easy drinking beer with a pleasant taste. It is a beer that I would drink again.

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear bronze color with large soapy tan-lie head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, dandelion syrup, dark fruit and grass. Taste starts light to medium sweet caramel and toasted malt, follows grassy and mild fruity, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is medium bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Flawless and tasty...

On tap at Patricks Irish pub Ljubljana. A bit red tint, herbal notes, low caramel and dough. Some diacetyl was however present and not that enjoyable. Otherwise has high drinkability and is mostly balanced.
