Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Bottle. The pour was a light clear amber with a huge (3-4 finger) white foamy head that had good retention and fairly good lacing. The aroma was very light and mild of a toasted biscuit malt, a mild floral hop and a light doughy yeast with a hint of caramel. The taste had an extremely light sweet malty presence from the start and finished about the same with a nice note of caramel at the end. The flavor was left hanging around for a nice long while after the swallow. Mouthfeel was surprisingly light in body and watery in texture with a fizzy carbonation. Overall an Oktoberfest that is super light in body and flavor. Although a tasty brew it could have used a little more of both.

Bottle. Amber color with off-white head. Aroma has some caramel, malt, grass and toffee. Taste is malty with quite long fairly dry aftertaste. Flavors of malt, bread, grassy hops and honey. A bit simple but well balanced, refreshing and tasty.

Light malt and slight floral aroma with golden copper color and a light foamy head. Well balanced flavor between malt and hops. Finishes fairly clean.

Hazy dark golden with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with bread and biscuit, a touch of fruit and herbal hops. Sweetish malty flavour with bread and biscuit and a touch of apple. Light bitter finish.

500 ml bottle. Pours a brown/amber with moderate head. Soft and malty, slightly sweet almost like honey. Pleasant stuff.

Likely my favorite Oktoberfest. Bready malt flavors with some sweetness. Slight bitterness enters just at the very end. Overall well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle straight from Aying brewery outlet, just put on sale. Amber color, cloudy, big white head. Aroma is malty, yeasty with noble hops backing, light caramel and berries, cookies, light almond. Taste is sweetish and well balanced, finish is rather dry. Smooth creamy texture, some dust, medium body, soft carbonation. Nice and lovely as expectable from Ayinger, glad enough to have found this in my last trip to Aying.
