COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The dry bitterness of classic pilsner makes this a perfect, pre-dinner drink. Although we borrowed the style from Bohemia, our pils is classsic Bavarian, made partially with barley we grow ourselves, a blend of fresh Hallertau and Tetnang hops and our unique St. Andreas mineral water. The vivacious color is reflective of the barley fields that surround our brewery. The head is light and thick and leaves a beautiful Bavarian lace on the empty glass. . In the mouth, our pils achives balance and roundness, without the hops overpowering the fruitiness of the malt.

Draft. Thankfully the first keg tapped in the us. Pours a clear gold nice white head. Smells bready and light. Flavor is bitter and crisp with bready notes very light and refreshing. This us the best available pilsner in chicago right now. Hope they keep up on the fresh kegs.

500 ml Bottle purchased at Greg & Janes. No discernible bottling date or code. I had always hoped to get to Germany and try this on draft but.... Time to tick. Almost clear in color. Aroma of mild lager yeast, weak grass. Flavor light grain, (with a slightly grainy texture) weak grassy hops toward the backend. Mild bitterness Thin to medium body, lively Co2. No telling how long this bottle sat in distribution. I am sure it is better from the keg.

Tap at Ayinger am Platzl - Clear golden color with nice head. This Pils is rather on the sweet & malty side. Lacks the bitter-hops. Well made but more like a Lager.

Tap at Ayinger Brustberl. A pils on the malty-sweet side. A bit grassy. Rather sweet flavours as well, not the super dry northern German style. Balanced, pleasant. Nice.

Aroma: herbs and malts. Appearance: clear golden color and white head. Taste: high herbal bitterness, iron, herbs, malty backbone, quite dry. Palate: low body and high carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Nice pils, but these iron notes ...

heavy (2808) - Split, CROATIA - MAY 28, 2016
May 15. On tap at the brewery restaurant, Munich. Clear yellow bodied with medium sized head. Sweet honey malt aroma with a touch of meadow grass hops. Flavor was lightly sweetish, apple or similar fruits, honey and butter were most dominating. Herbal bitterness was subtle. Pretty full bodied for the style with long, fruity and honey malt finish along with dryness which came at the very end. Fine, clean and enjoyable, although quite atypical with very low bitterness for a German pils.
