The dry bitterness of classic pilsner makes this a perfect, pre-dinner drink. Although we borrowed the style from Bohemia, our pils is classsic Bavarian, made partially with barley we grow ourselves, a blend of fresh Hallertau and Tetnang hops and our unique St. Andreas mineral water. The vivacious color is reflective of the barley fields that surround our brewery. The head is light and thick and leaves a beautiful Bavarian lace on the empty glass. . In the mouth, our pils achives balance and roundness, without the hops overpowering the fruitiness of the malt.

Bottle from Merchants. Aroma is earthy hops, sweet corn, slight metallic, grains. Appearance is golden, clear, white head. Taste is earthy hops, metallic, sweet corn, refreshing, lots of earth which is what I wanted. Mouthfeel is light body, light crisp carbonation, lovely earthy hop aftertaste. Overall, this is a great pils.

330 ml bottle into lager glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent import release. Pours crystal clear pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and fluffy white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of pale malt and earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big cracker, bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Perfectly clean lagering, with zero yeast notes present. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is an amazing German pilsner! All around incredible robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. A highly enjoyable offering, and perfect example of the style. Best in the style I have had yet.

Shot (520) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - JUN 3, 2017
Bottle. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a large fluffy white head. A bit of lacy cling around the glass. Aromas of sweet hay and spicy hops. Upfront flavors of sweet malt, citrus, fresh bread and crisp hops. Clean mouthfeel. Nicely balanced. A very nice representation of a good pilsner.

vyvvy (6400) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JUN 2, 2017
It pours bright clear yellow with a sudsy and soapy white head. The aroma has rich bread, pils malt, faint hops and mild caramel. It has a medium body with some crispness on the finish. The taste has a lot more hoppiness with grass, herbs and there is a mustiness that makes this seem like there could be some age on it. Would be a shame since it just hit Missouri today. Good, but expected more from Ayinger.

NordicV (2332) - Malmö, Sweden, SWEDEN - MAY 25, 2017
Drucken som en flaska Bairish Pils på Bullen-Två Krögare, Malmö. Ljusare gul öl med ett stort kvardröjande härligt pils-skum. Doft och smak av malt, citrus, gräs och hö. Torr munkänsla.

Iphonephan (6953) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - MAY 19, 2017
From a bottle at a Dominion WIne and Beer tasting. Pours a hazy gold with a thick white head. Flavors of biscuit and citrus. Crisp and refreshing. Nicely put together pils.

Jabic (565) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - MAY 14, 2017
Ar: Chalk with a slight sulfur note; cracker malt, very pale and slightly green; fine, noble floral hop aroma, very much dried flowers. Ap: Golden and clear; large white head with very good retention, rocky, leaving chunks of foam along the glass sides and a cap of airy mousse. T: Clean, doughy malt with chalk and sulfur notes; herbal hop flavor, somewhat floral; some hay and cucumber; bitterness is medium and firm; finish is crackers and herbal hops. P: Medium-light body with high carbonation; finish is quite dry. O: Solid German pilsner; crisp and clean with a light, fresh malt flavor and lots of noble hops; hints of sulfur and chalk add to the refreshing character.

Tap as Ayinger Bavarian Pils. Slightly sweet but very traditional example of the style. Light grains and grass. Quite nice and easy drinking.

Saeglopur (2154) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - MAY 2, 2017
Draught at Ayingers Speis und Trank, Munich.
Golden, clear body, with a big, stable, fluffy, white head.
Aroma of grains, flowers, grass, herbs, sweet bread, some honey.
Tastes similar, with a crisp, herbal hop bitterness.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a fizzy carbonation.
Finishes bitter, a bit dry, floral, grainy, herbal, bready, a bit sweet.

Lovely. Crisp and very clean, with a perfect balance between floral/herbal, bitter hops and just enough sweet and grainy body. Drinks incredibly fresh. Great, classic, accomplished Pils I could drink all day.
