The dry bitterness of classic pilsner makes this a perfect, pre-dinner drink. Although we borrowed the style from Bohemia, our pils is classsic Bavarian, made partially with barley we grow ourselves, a blend of fresh Hallertau and Tetnang hops and our unique St. Andreas mineral water. The vivacious color is reflective of the barley fields that surround our brewery. The head is light and thick and leaves a beautiful Bavarian lace on the empty glass. . In the mouth, our pils achives balance and roundness, without the hops overpowering the fruitiness of the malt.

On tap at a random al fresco stop during our Munich wanderings. Clear bright yellow gold, thick lasting white crown. Aroma is pleasant grassy floral hops and cereal grains. Palate is clean and fresh, light cereal accented by fragrant grassy floral hops delivering a medium bitterness in the finish. The best lager of the journey at this point.

An above average flavored brew. Not going to knock your socks off, but an easy drinker, very session able.

Clear golden colour, white head. Fresh malty aroma, quite floral hops. Flavour crisp malty, slight hoppy bitterness, fruity and floral notes. Finish light but pleasantly bitter. Refreshing and nice.

My Bottom Line :
This spritzy Pils promotes straw-like cereals onto a grassy, spruce-y hop character for a highly flavorful and refined tasting experience.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sticky head of foam covers the clear pale golden.
-This is yet another world-class lager from Ayinger. Bravo! If only more ratings would come from a tap close to the source, not from bottles exported across the pond
-The hop finish is long and highly pleasant, emboldened by the dryness.
-Every ingredient is clearly showcased from nose to finish.

On tap at Ayinger Speis und Trank, Munich.

Bottle looks really good, beer in the glass also. Zippy, nice head. Starts mild, modest dry, a bit spicy. Then more and more moldy-grasy, a bit sourish. Mild finish. Not my favourite.

On tap at St. Georg Hotel. Looks good! Great head, nice bubbles. Taste is a little too bitter for me.

On tap at Brauereigasthof Ayinger. Poured clear golden in colour with foamy off-white head. Fruity, malty and a bit of parfume in aroma. Fruity and floral notes in flavour. Leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Nice, fruity slightly hoppy bitterness in aftertaste.

Tap at their Munich beerhall. Two fingers of pure white cap; sparkling light clear gold color. Seaside aromas from the hops, light crackery malt. Definitely hoppy, but bit muted compared to the aroma...still tasty, bit minerally and grassy hops. Very crisp, but delicate body with vibrant carbonation. Beyond easy drinking....

Bottle 33 cl bought @ Bir&Fud, Rome. A smooth yeast and hops aroma, not so intense, with a hint of biscuit and barley. Very yellow clear color, foam is nonexistent. Carbonation is extremely high, incredible light body (more that of bohemian pils) but without a watery character. Instead, malt presence is pleasant and mixed with cereal notes. Strong bitterness in the finish: resinous, with a massive grapefruit aspect. Very good pils.
