Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a large, creamy white head, good retention with good lacing. Aroma is huge banana esters with caramel and vanilla nose, light bread and biscuit malt. Light noble hops and a warm alcohol character as it warms. Flavor is lightly sweet with bready and slightly buttery notes. A light hop bitterness. Banana esters and a dry finish. Medium bodied, medium-high carbonation.

Cloudy, orange colored, medium off white creamy head, good lasting. Aroma is of wheat, cloves, banana, bready yeast, very appealing. Taste is medium sweet wheat, banana-bread and cloves, some yeasty notes, very light alcohol, light bitterness, lasting banana-bread aftertaste. Medium+ bodied, average carbonation, creamy and thick. So nice! (bottle, Ayinger Bräustüberl, Aying)

Benzai (16928) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JAN 21, 2018
Bottle @ home. Hazy yellow color, full sized quite dense white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is classic German weizen imo: wheat, yeast, sweet overripe banana. Taste wheat, yeast, sweetish but not as sweet as the aroma suggests, also the overripe sweet banana is less dominant than I expected based upon the aroma. Suitable decent body and quite soft carbonation. Not bad.

(abricot clair, nez levure, attaque piquante, soupçon banane, pointe malt-acide, back crémeux, finale pétale rose)

Pours dark golden and cloudy, with a thick, foamy head. Aroma is caramel, citrus and bread. Taste is sweet fruit, citrus and toffee, warming to a honey and spice. Finish is smooth, fruity flavor. Not a huge fan of fruity beers, but this one is exceptional.

Bottle from Beermerchants. I love my weizenbocks and I think this could be one of the tastiest. Colour is cloudy amber, medium to large white foam head. Nose is creamy wheat grain, toasted grains. lemon, clove, orange, banana, fruity esters, fresh baked bread. Taste is fresh baked bread, bananery esters, orange and lemon, clove, little spice. The flavours I love in a weizen, but punchy and bold. Finish isn't huge because it has that crisp and clean lager quality, but very tasty. One of the best in its class.

jamestulloch (4424) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 12, 2017
Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden/amber body with an off-white head. Low carbonation. Very faint lacing. Aroma of marzipan, banana peel, cloves, bread and lemon cake. Flavour of earth, apricot and mashed banana. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. A tasty Weizen Bock.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2017 Приятный пшеничный аромат. Карбонизация выраженная. Вкус пшеничный, фруктовый, послевкусие приятное фруктовое, алкоголь хорошо скрыт.

Bottle. Hazy golden to orange colour, average, creamy, white head. Mild aroma of wheat, yeast, banana, with notes of bread. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter, wheat, banana, clove, citrus, orange, light bread. Medium+ body, velvety, smooth texture, average carbonation. Very nice.

The aroma reminds me a lot of Ayinger Bräuweisse, and maybe that’s why I have a difficult time avoiding a comparison. I read a little about the differences in style. Still, I like the Bräuweisse more, and, given the choice, probably would prefer it nine times out of ten. I feel like I’m missing something, so I’ll have to give this one a more focused visit another time.
