yngwie (17233) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 22, 2013
Bottle, 22oz. It pours a more or less black body, topped by a dense, finger-thick light tan head. The aroma has a touch of spices, cooked vegetables and some higher alcohols, but most of all there’s roasted malts, cocoa and dark chocolate. There’s roasted malts and bonfire hints in the flavor, it’s quite dry on the palate, yet there’s a flavor of residual sweetness. Spice hints, dark chocolate and coffee. Long finish with lots of dark flavors. It’s certainly a nice one, a bit rough and unclean in the aroma, making me thing I liked the barrel aged habanero edition better, but I see I rated that a bit lower. Would’ve been nice tasting all editions side by side. 130822

brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 31, 2012
An incredibly dark brown pour with a tan head. The nose has lots of gingerbread notes. Tons of spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. Some coffee, a lot of roast, and dark chocolate. The flavor is quite nice. Great spice character, the same gingerbread note, chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. A touch of molasses sweetness and some vanilla, too.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours very dark brown/black with a 3 finger foamy tan head. Aroma is Mexican chocolate. Full bodied. Flavor is cinnamon/chocolate. With a lot of smooth burnt malt. The finish is even stronger smooth burnt malt - burnt enough that this isn’t really all that sweet. But it’s not dry. Cinnamon seems to stick to the end. It’s a good one.
