Another great looking beer from aztec black in color with a emmence coco colored head that stick to your glass. Aroma is coco, sweet and cinnamon. Bitter, chocolate and a spice ciinnamon flavors.
Poured from 22 oz. bottle.
Opaque, black-brown with a 2-finger brown head and good lacing.
Aroma of cocoa, cinnamon, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, spice and maybe a little licorice.
Taste of cocoa, sweet roasted malt, coffee, licorice, mild ancho pepper, cinnamon and nuts. Some bitterness paired with sweet malt flavors, which win out in the end. The flavor reminded me of a Mayan hot chocolate--except sweeter.
Full/medium body and medium/low carbonation.

Taste is chocolate, cinnamon and roasted malts, with hints of light anise and coffee. Medium body, minimal carbonation, thin mouthfeel and a roasted finish. Cinnamon was too much for me. nealblind (1946) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - NOV 17, 2015
