COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Backwoods Cyser (’size-er’: a honey wine made with apples) was made with Michigan apple cider and a blend of Michigan star thistle, buckwheat and wildflower honeys. Once fermented, we placed the cyser into bourbon barrels and aged it to taste. The finished cyser is full bodied with smooth apple-honey character. Finishes with a touch of caramel, oak and bourbon.

Another SeaBass share. Thanks!! A: Pours a nice pale yellow hue, nice cling to the glass. S: Honey sweetness, with notes of oak, bourbon and slight vanilla. The apple is there, but a boozy burn stands above all. T: Apple front and center, like stewed apples with a nice honey sweetness to back it. The barrel while not as big as the aroma plays a big role. Old worn oak, with rich Bourbon notes. M: Medium in body, sweet with enough bourbon backing to make this one to sit down with and enjoy.

375 mL bottle from Oldsmar Tap House. Pours a medium-deep yellow with no head. Nose is honey, apple, bourbon, vanilla, and sugar/ sweetness. Flavor is similar- akin to the bourbon barrel mead, but this one has an apple quality to it. The apples play in the background of the vanilla/ bourbon and wood goodness. Interesting cyser; great addition to B. Nektar lineup. Medium bodied overall and strong enough to be a sipper.

clear, straw colored pour. butterscotch, bourbon, vanilla and granny smith apples all over the nose and mouth. add a touch of cake frosting in there as well...the flavor is more sweet than the nose...alcohol is certainly present, but doesnt detract from the quality of this excellent mead. fantastic

375 mL bottle from Oak Tree Liquors, Plainfield, NJ. Pours a crystal clear golden color. Aroma of honey, toasted wood, bourbon, herbal notes, floral notes and an almost chocolate note. The taste is honey, toasted wood, citrus, apple, whisky, vanilla. Medium bodied, slight legs, low heat. Very nice.

Colour of white wine. No carbonation, no head. Aroma of apples, white wine (sauvignon blanc), light honey, quite floral. Flavour rather sweet, quite alcoholic, sweet apples, light vanilla, some bitterness and astringency following up. Finish is pure floral honey with a massive booze head. My first ever mead, and I quite like it.
(From 37,5cL bottle @ RBBWG 2012, Antwerpen. Thanks for sharing, sebletitje!)
