UPDATED: NOV 30, 2013 Bottle: crimson red color with deep ruby in the center, only a few small bubbles that disperse quickly after the pour. Aroma is full of some tart cherry juice, light honey sweetness, & another pronounced fruitiness that seems to be something of the "berry" type. Taste is similar, cherry juice hitting up front with very subtle tartness that fades into a honey glazed sweetness. I’m getting faint hints of cranberry as well. Very, very light grassy tone mid-palate from the hop addition. Sweet cherry, delicate finish. Another solid & very drinkable mead from B. Nektar.
Lecker! Michael27 (1885) - Berlin, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2017
Really good. Tasted fresh from the tap at Muted Horn. Cherryred in the glass. In the nose came honey notes. Like a light cherry liquer. Evilkniamhel (941) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 24, 2017
On keg at muted horn Berlin. Pours clear cherry red. Nose of honey, cherry haribo, spices. Taste is wee bit of fizz, nice and balanced flavours. jonas (7549) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - MAY 10, 2017
Bottle. Deep red. Fine cherry aroma, tart berry soda shampoo flower notes. Medium light body, sparkles, foamy, cherry notes, mint notes,
Berry juice, rice steam cakes, almond, spice. Mellow, good balance. SinH4 (4712) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - MAY 10, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 10, 2017 Bottle, 1000th rating in 2017 - so many thanks to all my friends on and off ratebeer who?ve shared beer with me! Ruby color with small white ring. Aroma is cherries, breakfast honey, violets, flowery, just a bit of hops. Taste is cherries, honey, flowery again, a bit almond, a touch of earthy hops, some green apple. Low carbonation, full mouthfeel, super-balanced with its 6%, again green apple aftertaste. This really is a Kriek Mead - awesome (but I?m not sure if it needs the hops)!

Sample at B. Nektar on 4/2/17. Pours dark red with a thin pink head. Aroma of hop, cherry and honey. Sweet cherry flavor with a bitter hop finish. Still not loving hopped meads. JorisPPattyn (9929) - Ursel, BELGIUM - MAR 24, 2017
Short-lived pinkish foam; deep cardinal-red liquid. Sour cherries nose, flowery, blossoms, bit lactic acid aroma. Sourish-sweet, cherries. Balance at first outstanding, also thanks to a bit of CO², later swinging towards the sweet side. Bit of four fruit jam, but also real fruit-based. Honey is subdued, in comparison. Medium bodied, very low carbonation. Aftertaste has a soft impression of green apple. Far from bad!! Kriek-mead, great idea! sokuzs1 (1265) - POLAND - MAR 13, 2017
