Bottle; Pour is a pear or chardonnay coloration , with a very modest white head in this glass that retains poorly , a hint of lacing present here. The nose is mild funk, fruit juice, honey comb, and pine. The flavor profile is off putting for me - I picked this up for a new experience, and while it provided that for me it’s not a great end product. More bitterness from the hop profile with a touch of florals, some pineyness present, albeit in an odd fashion - more funk (not in a good way), and there is honey and pear fruit here. Anyway.. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 22, 2012
On tap at Sugar Maple. Clear medium yellow with no head. Aroma of honey, pine, earthy tones and mild dankness. Taste of honey, pine, spruce and mild floral hops. No real bitterness and a bit of a miss-match in flavors. jeremytoni (3082) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - DEC 16, 2012
From a bottle poured a yellow color with no head. Sweet light hoppy flavor with a quick finish. nsquishee (641) - Richfield, Minnesota, USA - DEC 14, 2012
Tastes sweet and bitter but off in some way. Flavors of apples, honey, makeup, white wine..ick. Leaves a slippery, bitter, floral, chemical taste on your mouth after drinking. Can’t drink the rest. smith4498 (3670) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Pours very pale yellow color withthin white head. Aromas of grapefruit and pine. Tastes like a hoppy mead. Unfortunately those flavors don’t mix very well. Sweet honey, apple flavor with bitter grapefruit rind and pine. Medium body with syrupy mouthfeel. Definitely not on par with their usually very nice meads.

Crazy looking as the body is nearly clear with just a hint of color. Almost like ginger ale in appearance. Has an interesting fruit and honey aroma. Flavor does not match aroma. Immediate hop bite followed by a tart cider flavor. Definitely weird. High carbonation adds to the experience. I appreciate what was attempted and encourage others to take a taste if seen on tap.

Draft at Cider Lodge. Clear golden pour with no head. Aroma does have a lot of IPA notes, citrus and piney hops with subtle honey sweetness. Flavor is hoppy, cleaning chemicals, pine, lighter honey sweetness. Awkward flavors through out. Interesting.... Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Pours a pale golden color thats slightly hazy... as it hits the glass the bubbles shoot to the top and clear it right up. No visible head but a few rising bubbles exist. Aromas are floral honey, pine, citrus and a touch of earthy spice. On the palate this falls apart. Soapy window cleaner flavors develop and mask the hop pungency and honey sweetness immensely. There is some nice glimpses of dank hops and focused sweet honey flavors but they mingle with a bitter messy off flavor that is just a bad combination. I think the hops would have a better effect if they were much more subdued and Im a hop lover... just not coming together in this one. Steve_0 (3744) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Bottle at the Colorado Mead Tasting ’12. Pour is clear honeydew with a small white head and decent lacing. Hoppy, earthy, dirty, grapefruit peel aroma. Taste is sweet and earthy upfront, leading to a smooth middle, ending lightly bitter and dirty. Medium body with high carbonation. Really weird mead and not very appetizing. notalush (5910) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Colorado mead tasting 2012 - IPA style mead? - lightly hazy light yellow - in the nose, the floral nature of the hops actually works fairly well with the floral notes and sweetness of the honey - much more so than I was expecting - unfortunately, the flavor is a bit of a mess - quite bitter - the hop flavor combines with the more floral notes of the honey, like I the nose, but in this case, it tastes soapy and overly bitter - finish of sandalwood and flower soap - ick.
