COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This plum Melomel was made with more than 4 pounds of golden plums per gallon of finished mead. Orange blossom honey was chosen to give this mead a nice citrusy feel that compliments the plum flavors nicely. This mead is sweet and is a great after dinner sipper with dessert.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with no head whatsoever. Aroma has a good amount of sweet honey with a hint of plum and a hint of underlying alcohol. Flavor is similar with sweet honey and plum up front with backing warming alcohol.

pours a golden color and is still. smells like really nice clean honey and beeswax though not much fruit. taste is a really great honey and beeswax though the fruit is very mild. mouthfeel is smooth and silky. perhaps one of the smoothest b.nektar offerings. overall enjoyable mead but not much fruit.

Bottle shared by Steve. Pours clear gold. Nose/taste of honey, vanilla and dark fruit. I couldn’t detect plum. The dark fruit is in the background. Medium body. Clean mead.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. This was part of an epic 20 mead tasting, made up entirely of meads from Michigan. Pours a yellow-orange color. I don’t get much plum character in the aroma, which is made up nearly entirely of honey. Some plums do come through in the flavor, where honey and alcohol are also present. Medium mouthfeel.

Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - AUG 17, 2011

MeadMe (1683) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - AUG 15, 2011
Pours a light golden hue. Aromas of sweet home and mild grape skins. A bit astringent. Flavor is nice sweet honey and summer fruits. Hints of earthiness from the skins perhaps. Mild spice and notes of plums in the finish.
