Bouteille 37.5cl, thanks Kyle for the mead box. Batch#415. Ambre/cuivre, dorée au verre légèrement huileux. Arôme offre un excellent bouquet de date avec un rétro fruité et mielleux. Erable se note discrètement et apporte un effet plus caramélisé, la vaille reste, quant à elle, plutôt modeste. Palais est plaisant, adouci, note de cannelle, pointe de fleur d'orange avec un retour doux de la vanille sans être surfait. Retrouve aussi un côté organique du sirop d’érable. Date confère ce côté fruité sec. Petite amertume du miel se note, le tout est agréablement bien sirupeux avec une petite pointe poivrée sur la fin.

Bottle bought @ CBC2016. Deep brownish golden pour leaving plenty of legs & coating on the glass with a swirl. Intense dark honey, dates, raisin purée & alcohol nose. English Christmas fruitcake, sour cherries, leather & wood. Light Brazil nuts. Sweet, fruity, nutty & tiny spicy taste. Soft, round, oily, tiny viscous & slightly boozy mouthfeel. Lingering fruit, spice & floral honey. Complex & quite delicious!

Bottle shared at schramm’s balcony bonanza. Poured deep gold with slight leggs on the Side. Nose of sweet orange honey, orange, chilli spice, caramel sweetness, fruit notes, glaced pineapple, and vanilla sweetness. Smooth orange blossom taste and a medium chili heat in the finish.

Clear dark amber with oily legs. Aroma is sweet, fruity and light boozy with caramelized honey, dates, figs, cinnamon and vanilla. Taste is sweet, spicy and fruity. Full bodied, oily texture. Warming finish, slightly dry spicy and peppery notes, sweet caramel and dried fruits.
Nice, spicy, fruity and warming.

Refrigerated 375 ml blue bottle poured into a snifter. Opaque burnt orange, with cinnamon aroma, thick body, and syrupy texture. Taste is sweet honey, cinnamon, dates, some vanilla, and a little hot peppers. Intense and quite sweet.

Taste is slightly sweet sour-ish mineraly, weeds, dark sugar, almonds, minerals, booze, dried dark fruits, oak, fruit stones, spices, nuts, mild vinegar, caramel, grass. Medium bitterness, slightly sweet sour-ish mouthfeel. Fair enough, not really my cup of tea.
