Cask at GBBG 2011. Black beer, bubbly brown head. Roasted malt aroma. Roasted flavor, tar and soot notes, chocolate, some fruits.

Cask at GBBF, Day 4. Pours brown-black with a foamy, tan head. Dry, cocoa malt aroma with hints of lactic sugar. Medium sweet flavor, milk chocolate, some lacto, mild roast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, hints of scorched earth, ash and tobacco. Nice.

On cask at the 26th Annual Folk Festival in Ely. A black stout with a thick tan head. Chocolate and coffee nose. Big roasted malt flavour with coffee and chocolate again. Quite bitter with a creamy mouthfeel. Dry, bitter chocolate and charcoal finish.

From cask. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt and liqourice. Liqourice and roasted malty flavoured. Caramelish and slight spiced. Smooth and dark roasted dark malty. Hoppy and fruity into the far finish.

cellar at bow ... black ... dry charcoal roast malt nose ... bitter dry roast ... not working ... needs the tap pour ... 3.1 as is prob get back up to 3.6 when it comes on

On tap at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak. Black with a small, beige head. potent chocolate, in the mouth also quite a lot of roast. Even touches of fruit towards the finish. Brilliant for the low strength.
