4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at The Scratch. Deep black colour that in impenetrable. Chocolate aroma bursts forth and invites you to take a sip. Full and rich in the mouth with a big chocolate kick. Great beer.
500mL bottle Bottled 5/3/15
Not much noise on opening. Pours a sort of flat looking black body, a ring of white foam persists.
Rich chocolate aroma - reminiscent of cooking chocolate & syrup, cakey, biscuity malts underneath.
Low carbonation, luscious palate, thick, smooth.
Palate is packed full of dark chocolate, fair amount of sweetness, with nutty biscuity malt undertones. Decent bitterness, lingering chocolate.
Nice enough chocolate beer, bit one dimensional really.

Draught. Murky black, treacly and slick. After a few minutes sitting it looked like a glass of tar. Medium-heavy body, but with surprisingly high carbonation. Chocolate over everything- and 80% cacao at that. Delicious treat.
