Brewer’s notes:
Raise your glass to the light & this beer shows off it’s beautiful red underbelly. Intense tropical piny aromas lead into fruity tropical flavours with hints of honeydew melon & ginger. Dangerously sessional, due to a unique subtle tartness derived from our secret spice ingredient. Beware it’s bite.

Beautiful aroma and quite sweet on first taste for a red IPA. The flavours are almost candy like with slight IPA piney tones. A beer this big in ABV should not be so easy to drink.

From a bottle. Listed as an Imperial Red Ale on the bottle, pours like coke, no head, tastes amazing, no hint of the huge alcohol content. Awesome beer.

From bottle in IPA glass. Pours reddish brown with one finger head and piney aroma mixed with roasted malt and some fruity notes. I love big hoppy reds but the finish is almost too sweet. I guess you need a lot of malt to get to 11.5% ABV

What an interesting beer. Pours a rosey black, coca cola type colour. The aroma is very different. Very herbal, very floral, anise tones with sweet caramel in the background. Not sure all of the flavour a gel perfectly but it makes for interesting drinking. Flavour is also very interesting. Very strong anise type flavour, very sweet with a slightly soapy aftertaste. All things considered, I enjoyed the experience but I wouldn't necessarily buy another. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500mL bottle. Bottled 20/02/15 Pours a very dark bronze body, holding a creamy beige head. Big aroma - lots of hops; pine, pineapple, tropical fruits, citrus, stonefruits, with rich toffee, caramel, biscuity malts representing well. Palate is thick, serious weight, medium-to-low carbonation - barley-wine like. Boom this is a big beer! Very sweet malt presence - toffee, biscuit, sultana, nuttiness - hops come through with force - citrus rind, ripe stonefruit, tropicals & pine spice. Bitterness is high, yet still finishes sweet, lingering warmth and hop spiciness. Properly big IIPA, verging on American Barley Wine/Strong Ale for sure, very good though.
