On hand pump at Tipplers Tap. Aged in rum barrels, thick and dark almost like port, no head at all and minimal carbonation. It’s strong at 10.4%, sweet chocolate/port aroma and flavours with a mild aftertaste. I like it.

Pours a deep tawny body with a dark beige head.
Big coffee aroma; chocolate, liqueur-like, dark brown sugar, vanilla.
Voluptuous body upfront, smooth, carbonation is moderate, dries out perhaps with a touch of booze toward the finish.
More chocolate & espresso on the body - coffee grinds, vanilla, dark brown sugar. Finishes sweet, not much bitterness.

Bottle 500ml (8.2%). Served at room temperature. Pours a very dark hazy brown (virtually black). Head is small, tanned and quickly dissipates. Aroma is of vintage port, marmite, dark rum balls, burnt caramelized dates, overripe figs, vanilla pods and smokey oak. Flavour is very lactic with a light vinous bitterness and strong notes of tart blueberries and cherries; raisin toast, coffee liquor chocolates, rum liquor chocolates, burnt caramel, salted liquorice (light) and notes of smokey oak in the finish. Full bodied with light carbonation, a syrupy texture and a long warming finish. I was a bit skeptical about this beer at first, but it truly exceeded my expectations – and than some!
