A typical Flemish beer with a pleasant wine-like taste and a rich past. This dark brown beer, which is matured in oak casks, has a slightly acid aftertaste.

lupuLust (265) - Franke(n) im Breisgau, GERMANY - DEC 11, 2016
11.12.2016 - Pours deep redbrown with beige head. Slighty acidly aroma, woody tones. Taste is almost the same but with some sour cherries. Palate is watery with acid coating on the tongue.

Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - NOV 12, 2016
This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a dark rugged brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated immediately. Some messy lacing. The aroma starts with some apple cider vinegar, lean sour to sweet with an embracing caramel loved malt. Some green apple fresh tartness flows over the soured malts. The flavor blends the sour to the sweet. Green apple sticky aftertaste leading on into the finish. On the palate, this one sat between a light and a medium on the body. Semi-sessionable sort of mild sour and then sweet sort of funky and then oatiness. Overall, this is a good Flanders Red ale that I could have again, preferably in warmer weather.

janubio (845) - SPAIN - OCT 25, 2016
Pours an opaque red colour, with a medium head that fades soon, leaving a lace that draws figures on the glass. Aroma of grapes, sherry wine, cherries, vinegar. Medium body, with a creamy palate and an average carbonation. Taste is sour, grapes, cherries, wood, sherrie wine, vanilla.

bulldogops (2490) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 19, 2016
Rating #2144 - 2015.11.02 - Tasting @colordevino_yeg with @49thParallelYEG -Hazy reddish brown pour, medium white head. Aroma is super bretty, lots of yeast on the nose - some oaky notes, sour cherries, wildflowers, honey, soapyness. Mouthfeel is clean, medium carbonation. Quite complex, the sourness is tempered with a fair amount of body, and lots of tart cherry. A fantastic Flanders-style beer.

Ysok02 (1519) - Mons, BELGIUM - SEP 17, 2016
Robe brune, mousse peu persistante.

hackobock (4008) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 31, 2016
August 31, 2016. Bottle, Deep red with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is sour, sweet fruity and vinous with sweet cherries, grapes, toffee, notes of raspberries, vinegar and oak. Taste is light to medium sweet, soft sour. Finish is quite short and a bit watery, light fruity sour cherry notes, some lemon, a touch of berry sweetness, hints of wood and vinegar. Light to medium bodied, a bit watery feel, average carbonation.
Alright, a bit bland.

Blueshawk (465)
- Bad Bellingen, GERMANY - AUG 28, 2016
