UPDATED: DEC 10, 2013 Schuim snel weg en nogal slap. Smaak is ok, maar totaal Geen nasmaak. Gelukkig laat avril een bittere nasmaak achter :) Hm.. Gekke rating. Wel schuim, mooi donker amberkleurig. Zuur, lekker!

Bottle from Rakuten. Clear ruby brown with a cherry cough syrup flavor and malty caramel. Soft carbonation. Ok but too simple and sweet... macro oud bruin seeming?

0.375 l bottle from 'Prik & Tik' (Tongeren), best before September 2018. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, quite fruity and a bit woody aroma of caramel, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, cherries and some oak. Slightly sweet, moderately sour, fruity and a bit woody taste of caramel, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, cherries and oak, followed by a medium long, moderately tart, woody-dry, slightly vinous and a bit musty finish. Medium body, slightly astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite nice, well-balanced but not overly complex.

Bottle. Pours brown/reddish with a thin head. Aroma has cherries and woody notes, slightly sour. Flavor is more sweet than sour, cherries and caramel. Sweet fruity finish. not that sour as expected. still decent!

IslandHaole (1299) - Misawa, JAPAN - JUL 28, 2017
Dark brown with ruby highlights, beige head. Nice aroma, hints of sour cherries, balsamic vinegar, shoyu, cola. Tart, acidic, not as sweet or as complex as the aroma. I’m getting more of the oak as it warms, Leaves a lightly sweet residue on the lips. A bit thin bodied. Interesting but not one I’d be in a rush to have again.

Bottle from World Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is mild banana peppers, oak, balsamic vinegar. Taste is mild with some acid and oak showing through. Mild vinegar. Pretty good but not super complex.
