Malty aroma has a yeasty tone and a definite note of honey - real honey, homegrown honey. Pours a pretty clear dark amber, bordering on honey-brown, with a fairly thick pale wheat head. Satisfying malty flavor has a firm note of honey, plus hints of caramel and hops. Firm texture has a subtle but lively fizz and leaves a honey-sweet malty finish. That’s my buzz.

On tap at Burgers & Blues. Pours light brown with light head. Aromas of sweet malts, caramel, and honey. Flavor is much the same. Sweet and boring brown. Not bad but kind of bland.

durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - FEB 6, 2013
Bottle from 5 (5Bar?) in Birmingham. Pours a lighter brown without much head. Nose is sweet malt and grain. Taste is sweet, but this tastes closer to a dark lager than a brown ale. Slightly nutty. Metallic. Not so good.

Plovmand (8534) - Grindsted, DENMARK - JAN 26, 2013
Bottle at home. Thanks Hopscotch. Pours mostly clear light amber with a medium off white head. The aroma is honey and spices, flowers and orange marmelade. The flavour is flowery and honey with some malty and light citric notes. Brown ale? No. Different and interesting? Yes indeed! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brown in the glass with a touch of red. A bit flat, not much of a head to it. Sweet spicy aroma some fruit and cinnamon. More of the same for the flavor, cinnamon, banana, vanilla, and a hint some of the honey notes. Overall, drinkable...

Patrickctenchi (6666) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - DEC 15, 2012
Clear, deep amber with a short, off white head. Scent is malty...honeyed. Taste is strongly honey,...a little nutty. Maybe a little pear and vanilla. Very sweet and creamy. Sticky, sugary....cream soda notes. Good, if a tad clingy.

3 ounce sampler at the Grovetoberfest Miami beer festival 10/13/12. Very good!

Bottle... Pours clear and deep amber with a large, wispy, white head. It fades slowly to a small, tight, creamy cap that refuses to fully disappear. Heaps of honey and nuttiness in the aroma. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with airy carbonation. The sweet, super-malty flavor offers honey, pale malts and toasted nuts. The hops impart only a semblance of balance. Malty, mashy finish. It doesn’t look much like a brown ale, bug there’s a lot of flavor packed into this little guy. Bottle courtesy of garmonbozia!
