Bomber from CraftShack. Pours clear dark ruddy copper with a transient, and slight, beige head. Aromas of roasty malt, tea, and perhaps chocolate. Med body or so. Flavor is nutty, tea, roasty malt, and arguably some sort of hop. It’s not heading towards dry, but it’s not excessively sweet. I’m still viewing it as malt and tea. Decent drink. On my six beer flight and then a pint at the brewpub (Irvine) on 7th July 2014. As the name suggests, this is beer with a red hue to it’s colouring, on top a small grubby white head. Fairly sweet nose and taste, malts leading the way, caramel and mild toffee notes sitting on a fruity/floral base. Number two in my scoring of the six I tried.

25 June 2014, tap at Back Street in Irvine. amber, clear, no bubbles. nose is lightly toasted malt. thin body and moderately fizzy. toasty malt, maybe a bit tin or metallic. meh. anders37 (26657) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 16, 2013
Draft @ Back Street Brewery Vista, Vista, CA. Pours a reddish amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy caramel aroma. Fruity malty hoppy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy caramel finish. greenhorn1 (850) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - MAY 6, 2011
On tap at the Lader Ranch location. Not bad, but try their ER IPA. This pours reddish brown and is your typical amber. Nothing memorable, but easy to drink.

I had this on tap in Irvine.
It’s an amber/red pour, a bit sticky sweet, almost caramelly. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 18, 2010
A: The pour is a nice amber color with a thin ring of off-white head.
S: There’s a decent caramel and toffee sweetness with some light citrus hop aroma too. Unfortunately, a weird olive oil sort of aroma that doesn’t belong in beer.
T: Not really sweet or bitter, but a bit of toffee to provide some sort of malty flavor. Again, the fruity olive oil character and somewhat chalky, too.
M: The body is medium, I suppose, but the carbonation is fairly low and there is the previously mentioned chalkiness.
D: Back Street does have some pretty decent beers, but this is not one of them, unfortunately. KimJohansen (10492) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2010
Clear golden with a tiny white head. Hoppy nose with grapefruits, pale malt and pine. Flavour had plenty of hops, pine, grapefruit and pale malt. Fairly dry and bitter. Not bad. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - FEB 3, 2009
On draft at Vista location. Color was dark auburn with a light brown head. For the style, the flavor and aroma were good. Aroma of red malt, almost strong ale smelling. Caramel and fruit. Flavor of cocoa, fruit, red malt. A bit unrefined, but still good tasting. thedradle (9) - , California, USA - SEP 25, 2008 does not count
If I were stuck on a desert island with kegs of this stuff and a beautiful woman, I’d kill her so she wouldn’t drink the beer...it’s that good.
